Thanks Roger. This one is 26x55 and the higher loft made a big difference for me. Prefer this Manchurian over my Simpson.

Okay so this big box of stuff showed up at my door step today from the Nationwide Box Tour 2015 and lucky for me I needed a shave so I decided to try out a brush and the RR Cumba Cheech soap. So here is my SOTD with those two items!

    SOTD 3-30-15

    Razor: ATT R2 w/Bamboo handle (1st time with R2)
    Blade: Voskhod (New)
Soap: RR Cumba Cheech (1st time using)
    Bowl: Steel
Brush: Tweezerman (no idea if boar or badger. 1st use)

Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry!

First of all I didnt shave yesterday as I was too busy, I guess so that is part of the reason why I decided to try the R2 instead of continuing with the M2 as I had a two day growth and thought I would need extra mowing power!

Shave was very good (easily a DFS) No nicks or irritation but I did get two tiny weepers (from too much pressure I think) that disappeared quickly. First time with the ATT R2 plate and second Voskhod blade that I am trying. The Voskhod blade allows me to use some pressure in the rough areas that need extra passes/touch up without giving me real cuts or irritation so I am very happy with that! I guess with the R2 plate I need to watch my pressure a little more to eliminate the weepers I got today!

This is the first time I trying this soap and just loaded the brush then transferred to the steel bowl. It lather real easy and gave me a good slick, protective lather. It also seems to leave my skin somewhat smooth so feels good! Initially when I smelled the tub all I can smell is orange and it was kinda strong (like most do to me) but after that is seemed to go away even during the use I could not really smell it but just a little. I am no expert for sure but it seemed to work just fine for me and I would use it again!

Regarding the Voskhod. This is second blade tryout with it and I was going to try a different blade but by switching plates, I decided to use the same blade as I did with the M2 plate (4 uses on the blade) to eliminate a variable! :)

I have qute a few choices of blades and soaps so I will continue to sample then to get them tried and rated to whether they stay or not!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out!

    Thx.

    March 30

    Stirling Sheep bath/face soap
    Merkur 37C slant bar razor
    Feather blade (day 1)
    Kent BK8 silvertip badger brush
    Arko shave soap
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter

I began Arko April today, and I had a great two-pass shave. I went easy, as I had some minor neck irritation resulting from my addiction to repeated ATG passes over the past few days. The Arko is a fine soap, and so far, it has given me great results. I had one big learning today, however. Getting ready this morning, I put my socks on before I shaved. The Arko fragrance knocked my socks off, causing me to spend time locating my socks and putting them back on after the shave. Ah, well, shave and learn! :D

    Grace and Peace!

    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

Let's face it, my friends - it's just impossible for me to go more than one or two days maximum without using one of my Glacials. These soaps have frozen their way into my heart, as well as into my rotation. The Lavender version has been my favourite of the line for some time now because I just can't get over its wonderful scent, its rich, easy-to-build lather, and its ungodly powerful menthol sensation which begins immediately. The rest of this set-up, such as the Gold Bond/Penguin combination would have been perfect for finishing a Menthol Monday Shave, so instead I'll go with it tomorrow. My new Sharp blade did an awesome job of cleaning me up today, so let's see how it does the second time around. ;) :D
