I was gonna take the day off from shaving, buuut...

• Proraso Red Cream mixed with some Captain's Choice Sandalwood
• Experimented with lather by using more water and making it thinner and slicker (I'm still new to building lather)
• Schick Xtreme Plastic Disposable Razor = BBS on face, just shaved WTG on the neck/throat
• Liberally applied Aqua Velva, then let it dry
• Applied small amount of Osage Rub, then let it dry
• Very liberally applied Pinaud Clubman Musk on face, neck, forearms, back of neck, and even a bit on my head (ok, I may have a problem with this...)
• Versace Eau Fraiche cologne

Birthday came a day early yesterday as I was greeting by two packages at the door: My PILS 101NE and my gift to me the Lee Van Cleef Meerschaum pipe. First thing I thought of when I pulled the PILS out of the box was "Thor's Hammer". Slender handle, beast of shave head that is quite heavy. Workmanship is the best I have seen on any razor to date. Using the PILS was pleasure this morning. Have to use a steeper angle but very, very efficient. Believe it will take another shave or two to find the sweet spot for angle but really no different for me as I have to do this with every other DE razor I have to get the best out of razor. Now I have to wait until after work and dinner before I can settle down and relax and give the Van Cleef Meerschaum a try. Have a great Fool's Day my friends!

Well for those betting on seeing some blood you got your wish. Barely. Decided to try the second pass today with the CJB. Face wasn't too tough to figure out and get done, but the neck requires an entirely different grip. Very awkward feeling but I went for it and got a minor nick on my neck just above my adam's apple. Other than that no problems other than just having difficulty getting the same level of shave on my neck as my face. Finished the two passes then went back over my neck with the Superspeed to even it up. Day four on both blades. With no more work than the Voskhod is getting it may last the same number as the Kai. Happy April everyone!

Got a great shave from the fat handled Tech.

This razor spends most of its time in a travel kit, which I got out last week when my wife and I took a few days off and went whale watching. Loved seeing the gray whales! And I enjoyed using the old Tech, so I brought it out today.

5 blades, 5 times the fun. So I whipped up the Seifenglatt in my VDH mug and off we go. A push of the power button on this light vintage Gillette, there is a new swivel head version that I'm dying to try, and the razor starts it wonderful song. Bzzzzzzzzz. WTG XTG ATG and all over the grain, no problem. Pat dry, add a little electric pre shave, and hit all the spots missed by the 5 blades with my classic Braun. Just wow! What a shave. Half a tube of hydrocortisone and I'm good to go. Have a good one.
