It's been just under a month since my Muhle R89 arrived and I had my first DE shave with TOPS Sandlewood shave cream. After reading the various posts on here, I vowed not to let the collecting bug take over and instead restrict my buying to the truly necessary. The picture below is the bathroom cabinet after about three weeks..I think I’ve busted the “truly necessary” part but still managed to keep things fairly well in check, at least compared to some on here! Latest acquisition was a Fatboy which I have yet to use. If I get along with it, that will probably be the last razor I buy in the short to medium term, however somewhere down the line I think I would like a nice stainless steel ATT of some description. On the software front, for now I am going to concentrate on using up some of the creams and soaps I already have before buying any more; at least that’s the plan anyway! lol
I wasted thirty- five years using carts and cans. hated most of those shaves. I'm gonna enjoy the ones I have left.
Well Pete isn't shaving this way fun? I would say that at one month in your various AD's are well developed. You'll have 25 razors and uncountable soaps soon!
Great to see Pete! The cabinet is looking good! I'm envious of the fatboy, i'd like one but they're a little out of my budget at the moment. Maybe in the fiture
You got a wonderful den. Aces! I hope you enjoy the Fatboy, it is my favorite vintage Gillette DE, I use it a LOT. I hope to someday add a stainless steel razor to my den, like a PILS or Feather.
Congrats. I see a can of Gillette shave foam with a garbage can in its near future. Survival of the fittest when your den starts filling up
I've heard good things about the soap but not seen any locally as yet...Once I've worked through some of my existing soaps and creams, I will probably order some online though...
Na, the can of Gillette is their Artic Ice antiperspirant; the only foamy stuff is the Niva which I actually quite like and will probably keep on hand for days when I am in a rush..
