SOTD - Monday, April 6, 2015 Shower Prep: Homemade PSO Brush: B&B Essential Boar Soap: Stirling MITA Razor: Merkur 38C Blade: Astra SP (3) Aftershave: Osage Rub/Lime Sec mix
SOTD 4-6-15 Razor: ATT R1 with Bulldog handle Blade: Astra SP (3) Soap: Wm. Neumann & Co. Lime and Mint Rum Bowl: Steel Brush: Tweezerman Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry! Shave was good but not great, not quite a DFS but no nicks or irritation but my face didnt seem all that smooth, just dry and unmoisterized. See soap part. Razor: No complaints. The R1 plate works very well! Blade: One of my favs so have used before and like them alot! This blade seems perfectly matched with the ATT R1 plate. Soap: First time using this soap and for me I am not impressed with it. I bloomed it at the same time my brush was soaking too. I loaded the brush very well then transferred it to the steel bowl to work the lather. The scent is fine, the lathering seems fine but not great! It left my face dry, really dry feeling in between each pass. The lather didnt dry out but once I shaved the lather and beard off, it just felt so dry and seem to offer no protection like others and my Arko does. Again, I dont know why I keep trying other soaps as they just seem to fail me and I end up with a bunch of them sitting around here. This is one I dont see myself using it again! Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Thx.

April 7 Plans Stirling Sheep facial soap Merkur 37C slant bar razor Feather blade (day 2) Omega 10098 professional boar brush Arko shave stick & glycerin Two passes Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Nivea Sensitive Post-Shave balm This week, I'm using Arko as a shave stick and lathering with a boar brush. Last week, I used my silvertip brush. So far so good, but it does take a bit longer to build a good lather with the boar brush. And try as I might, I only get enough lather for two passes. I'd like to have a bit more lather for some touch-ups. Either I need to work the lather longer or use more soap. I'll experiment this week to see where my problem lies. Here are my initial impressions of Arko. There's no doubt that Arko performs well, and I understand why it has a loyal following. I'm simply indifferent to the scent -- after I've unwrapped it and allowed it to breathe for a few days. It's neither bad nor good. The good news for me is that the scent doesn't linger for long after my shave is complete. If I wanted a "luxury shave," this would be my last choice of the dozen or so soaps and creams I've used. However, if I was going on an overnight trip or needed a "work shave," I'd use Arko without hesitation for its solid performance and ease of use. Out of the dozen sticks I recently purchased, I've PIF'd seven of them. I have almost five sticks left, and that's enough to satisfy my curiosity about Arko for a long time. Grace and Peace!

Yes Baseball the L.A. Dodger Won Today! As you can probably tell I'm a L.A. Dodger Fan. I remember the first game at Chavez ravine. My Dad and I were Right behind home plate.(worst seats in the stadium) I will take Left Field Blecher Seats any time(above the Dodgers Bull Pin), I also remember going to Padres Baseball games when they were still in the Pacific Coast League at Lane Field, then when they played at Westgate Park. For Tuesday morning: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 2 Godrej Menthol Mist SC Gold Bond Moisturizer Proraso Green AS Givenchy Gentleman EdT Guys, although this set-up is not anywhere near as frigid as the one I used today it's still some pretty serious menthol. The Neutrogena facial wash is strong enough when it's on your face a couple of minutes - believe me. The Godrej Menthol Mist is very cold, as well as very refreshing and it lathers fast and RICH. The Gold Bond moisturizer is chilly and soothing and the Proraso Green aftershave feels really chilly. I hope I get through this week with as few problems as possible with the new Sharp blade - it nicked me a little this morning.
Arko April!! SOTD 6 April 2015 Day 6, blade 1, the mighty mighty MTO! Blade is slowing down a tad, still managed a good 2 pass shave! Automatic! Have a great Tuesday!
I was thinking, and that is not without its danger. There is Menthol Monday, sorry my face can't take menthol, so how about "FAT Tuesday" I know not everyone has a Gillette Fat Boy, but for those the do, bring them out and use them. I use mine more than any of my other razors, even knowing it's value on the bay has gone through the roof. I used mine today and will again tomorrow. We could do this every week. Anyone with me. Come on dust it off and use it.
After reading this I couldn't help but smile at the countless memories I have of playing ball with my dad and/or watching the Red Sox on weekends (Yaz, Jim Rice, Freddy Lynn, The Boomer, Pudge Fisk, Butch Hobson and the list goes on), wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing.
