Definitely words of wisdom. I have to say, though, I have a weakness for collecting things. I've already been browsing West Coast Shaving for different brushes, soaps, creams, blades, pre shaves, and after shaves. I've also been browsing Etsy, looking at vintage razors. But even with a collecting addiction, I do tend to stick to one item as my everyday use. An example is my knife collection. I have a lot of what I consider to be cool looking knives, both traditional and modern. But the one I grab everyday has been the same for the past 3 years. I fondle my collection, but I'll stick to something tries and true too.

 

This is great- it's helping my budget too! Very scientific and smart to only change one variable at a time.

 

Good to see the correct statement on muscle memory.

 

I did a 45 day RRXXX Focus, (I titaniced the tub!). It was a challenge, but afterwards you are an expert with that product. I look forward to doing a 30 Day Feather AS-D2 (that won't pose a problem). Aftershaves might be challenging, especially if only one were the focus of a 30 usage.

This is great sage advice. I wish I had signed up sooner so I would have had read this before my mad max antiquing adventures. Even so I thought very similarly, I only did a weeks time though. Not as much as I should have but it seemed logical to get used to something before trying to compare it. I still need to make my way over to the newbie kit forum and post my goods before I get old around here and am no longer a newb.

 

Very cool Gary....I've been doing the 30 day focus adaptation of your 30 day rule without knowing what to call it....Very hip....and my version of the 30 day Focus was something I did pick up from you...all credit goes to the Master GDC.....

 

Thanks for sharing - this has basically been my motto - I'm only using the TTO Gillette and Astra super platinum blades for a while until I get my technique. then, oh, then.... all spending shall break loose....
