$40 shipped USA More $ elsewhere :) PM ME
I ordered two and only need one. So the blue one goes

This is about the best scuttle that you'll be likely to use.

Ridges inside the lather bowl aid in lather making.

You use this by filling hot water in and making the lather inside the bowl.
The scuttle is heavy enough to sit and make lather with one hand.
It keeps lather and brush warm.
There's everything right about this scuttle

Another reason to buy this one, the manufacturer is 3 weeks behind in filling orders.

They're not really behind, they are only making them to order. It is a pretty small operation. I drove up there yesterday ;)

The Moss Scuttles up in Nova Scotia work the same way. They have a turnaround of about 3 weeks because of how long it takes to make them and because of the ordering process.

Hand made is good like that. :D

Here's the email Lori had sent me:

    Hello Bobby,

They cost $38 + $8 and $3 handling. They come in all the finishes shown on
our website www.georgetownpottery.com but you can't order them from there as
yet because we have just been able to make them as they are ordered. As soon
as we have more stock they will be shown there. It will take about 3 weeks
to receive as we are making them to order. You can call me toll free to order
    at 866 zenpots or 207.371.2801

Well, Tom, it looks like you just cost me $46. I've been interested in a Moss-type scuttle for some time, but don't much care for the original. Even Sara's large one seems too small.

The Georgetown scuttle though, unless that's a miniature brush in your pic, seems more than adequate for bowl lathering. What's the diameter and depth of the inner bowl?

    Thanks!

    There were measurements from soulshine:

    overall height = 3-1/2"
    overall diameter = 6"
    opening diameter = 4-1/2"
    inner bowl height = 3-1/4"

    Bobby,
I got the same email :). Right now all of the scuttles are hand thrown. I guess they are in the process of making a mold that will allow them to increase production. I don't really know what the difference between those and the current ones will be. Chances are you'd never notice the difference.

Thanks, Bobby! The inside is smaller than I thought, but still larger than the Moss. Think I'll try to get one while they're still hand-thrown! :happy088

I just got one myself. It should get here by Wednesday. I've never had a scuttle before so I'm very excited. I got the blue one as well.

You/we all will be MOST happy with the GEORGETOWN SCUTTLE.
tHERE ARE NEW REVISIONS COMING IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.
o SPOKE WITH jEFF TODAY AND WE CHATTED A LONG TIME ABOUT WHAT MAKES THIS WORK.
    - wATER SURROUNDING THE INSIDE BOWL. SIdes AND bottom
a bit of a spout along with the slice opening now. Take the slice opening now and take your thumb and make a spout..
    - Bring up the bottom ~ 1/2 inch
    - Keep ridges inside lather bowl
    - Keep weight the same as present iteration. I can make lather with one hand and the scuttle does not skitter around. It stays in place.
    - Keep handle as is
    - Jeff is keeping the lip. Tho I don't see the reason for it at the present model. I never had lather splash up that high. This may be needed with the bottom raised 1/2 inch

This is VERY close to mold making. I think it is becoming THE PERFECT scuttle.
Why have a scuttle that I can't lather in????
    :)
