Howdy Gentlemen (and of course ladies) I'm sure many of you have had a few extra drinks in your time and woke up with that wonderful feeling the next morning. Im here to ask you all what your hangover cure is whether is be gatorade at night or chocolate milk in the morning lets hear it!
I have a good one. Don't drink at all. I remember the "good old days", ah the memories... well hang overs are caused because you are dehydrated. I would think that drinking water high in minerals and or electrolytes will make you feel better. you can get some packets at the health food stores. its what cyclists drink.
I really dont drink..and when I do its not to excess... But I heard taking 2 excederin in the middle of your session helps out as well as drinking a great deal of water. Of course if you know anyone in the medical field 1-2 liters of Normal Saline will do the trick... And when all else fails. Beer before liquor never sicker Liquor before beer your in the clear
Aside from knowing your limits the best hangover cure is to drink lots of water before going to sleep - the hangover (if you didn't drink bad alcohol) comes from dehydration due to the ethanol.
The only real hangover cure (once you have the hangover) is TIME. ...However in my partying days, 6 beers with tomato juice seemed to make me feel better. (Postponed hangover )
IMHO = bottom shelf booze and / or fruity drinks causes the hangovers. I stick to Scotch on the rocks and Gin & Tonics and don't get hangovers, regardless of how much I drink. I also take any number of OTC pain relievers before going to bed and perhaps that helps too. But, back to the OP; if you are hungover, have yourself a Bloody Mary. The old saying is true for some; a little hair o' the dog that bit you will cure what ails you. YMMV of course....
Haven't had a drink since early 1994. Haven't had a hanger since, either. But I've had 'em. Seems like the only thing that actually worked was mentioned by Wyatt - TIME. I sure don't miss them!
Yep, TIME and perhaps sleep. You could also yak the night before too, purge some of that spare alcohol. Yakking ain't for me though. I'll be hungover for a few days by choice than puke once; I just don't like puking. I'm not a flaming alkie or anything but do happen to know a little about being hungover, uhm, a friend described it to me once Also, there is merit to the 6 beers and some tomato juice I think. The juice will put back in some of the vitamins and the beer will put you back to drunk, in the mean time start alternating waters in between the beers. This'll kill the pain and start getting you re hydrated, you just have to set out with the purpose of re hydrating and stick to it. Or else you kinda defeated your purpose. Also, stay away from acetaminophen when drunk, that double whammy to liver could do permanent damage. Stick with aspirin or naproxen. Perhaps Danny (dslazar) will read this and correct me if I'm wrong.
I found that Goody's headache powder (found in the Southeast) and a lot of water worked on the head. For the stomach chocolate mix and an Egg McMuffin. Sounds disgusting but it worked
I would always have a Gatorade or powerade before bed to put back those lost electrolytes. And for the morning after it was always chocolate milk and a nice fatty breakfast.
For a second I thought you said a nice fatty for breakfast. Another friend of mine said that works pretty good too Allegedly
I usually try to drink a tall glass of water before I pass out. That pretty much eliminates any chance of hang-over the next morning.
From all the reading I did, I learnt that hydrating the body with water to flush away the alcohol is the best way to beat a hang over and fast. Pure water - no juice, aerated drinks or anything else as they will take time for the water to get in to the system. Coffee and Tea will add to the misery and increase the acidity levels of the body. After a heavy session, I pump in almost a liter or two of water over an hour or two and find it to be much easier the next morning.
I can say I've never had a hangover. Ever. I'm either really lucky or the Scotch-blood kicks in really well. I usually just make sure between every few drinks I have some water, and I usually eat something greasy before a night of drinking. A heavy breakfast also seems to help. There's a place near me that makes *great* Scotch eggs.
Don't overdrink But if you do, then drink a lot of still water before going to sleep + eat not hotchpotch soup with a lemon and a large spoon of sour cream once you can in the morning. Advice from a Russian man
My favorite hangover breakfast (back when I got hangovers) was always a chili & cheese omelette. It tamed the stomach down very quickly. Майка ми пие повече от един руски Old Bulgarian proverb - My mother drinks more than a Russian
Best answers, as well as the only ones that cured mine. Stay away from ALL painkillers when you have alcohol in your system. Alcohol is bad for the liver. Painkillers are bad for the liver. Why would you combine the two?
