I tried using it once for shaving and it was a no-go. It smells great, but I agree that it does seem to be a bit drying.
ive seen this on several websites and im glad this was mentioned cuz I was considering buying some. this is whats so good about this fourm, u can get an idea about what to expect from a product
I was wondering if you have tried rubbing the puck on your face like a shave stick and seeing what happens. I do that with a french soap from Marshall's called A La Maison and, also as a sea salt soap(with coconut oil as the first ingredient) makes shaving-esque lather. I've never tried to shave with it, but use it to wash my face.
With so many viable options out there I don't think I'd personally go through the efforts to create shaving-esque lather from this soap as one of the main issues is the staying power of the lather itself.
I wash my face day and night with one of my brushes to help exfoliate a bit on non-shave days. Helps me practice and keep my face-lathering skills up. I would never try to legitimately shave with lather from a non-shave soap/cream, but it's fun to actually see that it's possible to get legit looking lather from a bar soap. It's way easier to do if you use the soap bar as a shave stick, then trying to swirl off the bar.
A well formulated sea salt soap is a wonderful bath or shower soap. It's lather is tight and dense as opposed to big airy/fluffy bubbles, and you get the added benefit of washing with all of the therapeutic benefits of sea salt. I've never seen one that provides the tight, dense, long lasting "cushiony" lather that a shaving soap should have.
