Razor: ATT R1 with Bulldog handle
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
Soap: Ginger's Garden Havana Cognac (1st try)
    Bowl: Steel
    Brush: Tweezerman

Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry!

Shave was good but not great, I did get a DFS with no nicks or irritation.

Razor: No complaints. The R1 plate works very well!

Blade: One of my favs so have used before and like them alot! This blade seems to match up great with the ATT R1 plate.

Soap: First time using this soap and for me the scent and lathering was fine, actually better than fine! It also felt like it did offer good protection but not as good as my Arko does but it was good. This is one soap that I could see myself using it again but I have decided to stick with the Arko as my only soap so all others are going to find new homes, I hope!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out!

    Thx.

And people say the fat is hard to lather. That's how much was left after a 3 pass shave and a clean up pass.

I really like the new tallow formula from Country Club for Men. This scent is a sweeter citrus and reminds me of Juicy Fruit gum. The lather is luxurious and the post shave face feel is everything I've been looking for in a soap. I loaded a fresh Big Ben into my frankentech and was treated to a nice and mild shave with super smooth results.

Oh my goodness, I never thought it was possible for any soap or cream to be able to match, let alone beat any of my Stirling Glacial soaps for menthol power but it finally happened. All I can say is I warn anybody who is unable to tolerate powerful menthol not to even ATTEMPT to use this soap because it has a freezing sensation which feels like it's burning the skin. The lather whips up easily and very rich with excellent protection against dryness. The scent, if you can call it that is like Ben-Gay ointment but it doesn't last long. Thank goodness for my Gold Bond moisturizer, and after using a menthol monster like this it takes a real Cracky Wacky Nutcase like me to finish with the Rubby Dubby Doo. My Sharp blade is behaving itself very well so far. ;) :D

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap
    Jayaruh WC4 HMB
    Gillette Fatboy F2
    Sputnik Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC4 HMB Brush. Two passes with my Gillette Fatboy razor and a Sputnik Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I just received some Chiseled Face Sherlock today, and it will be my shave tomorrow. I am interested to see how the Cryogen works. That may be my next soap purchase. The AS also looks interesting...

Be very careful with this soap. Keep it away from your eyes and keep your mouth closed while you lather up.

SoTD for Wed, April 8, or the band played on.

    Pre-BBC oil
    Soap- vintage Colgate
    Razor- Gillette Techmatic
    Blade- Gillette Techmatic
Brush- mystery vintage British butterscotch w/ new knot
    Rinse- Osage
    Aftershave- Colorado Sage
    Balm-Kiehl's
    Cologne- Colorado Sage

Another busy week. Another multiple day gap between shaves. Another rushed morning. And when you have little time, and desperately need a close, quality shave, a band razor quite literally cannot be beat. I got a ridiculously good 2 pass BBS... in about 15 minutes. No irritation whatsoever and of course, no injuries. I'm still not sure if one can be injured by a band razor. Judging by my recklessly lightning fast whisker shedding this morning - no.
I am growing incredibly fond of the big British Butterscotch brush. It is a lather monster. At 24mm, it is one of my biggest brushes. Easily holds three passes worth of lather, so it is also excellent for those pressed for time days. And as I never tire of pointing out, vintage Colgate is amazingly good soap. I just bought a NOS case of twelve pucks. So I'm set on Colgate for a solid decade at least.

I was just given a Techmatic as a gift someone found. I managed to come up with 2 bands. It sounds like you had good success with it. I've heard those razors are meat grinders.

I've been eyeing this soap as the description of the aroma sounds pretty good to me. What is your take on the aroma? I have the Aqua Di Gio and like the aroma and I would place it middle of the pack for protection. Mine some staying power which surprised me.
