The 7am blade is on my bad blade list for a future month. Glad to see I apparently picked correctly! Keep it up with the Voskhod...my favorite Russian, though the Sharp Star is winning me over.

Late post of a great cold water shave today. I am a junior sponsor at my school and tonight was prom. I waited to shave until about 5:00 p.m. and had a great 2 pass face and 2 pass head shave. I'm getting more and more convinced that cold water shaving is a good thing as the weather continues to warm. I had an almond sized dollop of cream provide enough lather to basically lather my entire head at least 4 times. Not fluffy, but thick and slick and that's okay with me.

    Prep: shower
Lather: St. James Mandarin & Patchouli
    Brush: TGN synthetic
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: SuperMax Sunrise Stainless (4)
    Post: Old Spice Pure Sport

Late for me as well, but it remains...

    Arko April!!

April 10, Day 10, (day 3, blade 2), the mighty mighty MTO!

Decanted the Veg. It really changes it. More awesome than before. Just saying.

I was surprised by today's shave. I think my angles on the chin were off, a tiny weeper or two...but they stopped before pass two, and managed the usual automatic smoothness that the divinely inspired lemon goodness is known for. A little Alum irritation, but splashed on the Veg and called it good. The blade lives on.

    Have a Great Saturday!
    :)

I am also posting late.... My Friday night shave was a bit rough.... it's hard to get used to having to replace a blade every 3 or four days.... I'm used to 15 for injector, and 20 to 30 for SE blades..... This could break the bank!:angry017: I still ended up with a DFS shave regardless. Now I need to figure out what blades I will try, once my VERY expensive drug store purchased Wilkinson Sword blades are done.

The Cella was good stuff. This was my first go with it. I like the smell, but I could see how people would not. It has a strong almond smell, which can be similar to cherry, as I have heard some people describe it. The lather was nice and thick and offered good protection. The post shave feel was as I would expect.

This was the cream I almost got when I first started wet shaving, so I finally got to check it off my list.

Great 2 pass shave with small area of cleanup this morning. User error left me with one small nick. Shimming the Goose has proven for me to be the go to set up. Very efficient and smooth, as long as I pay attention. ;) Off to work this morning.

Do you find that razor handle gives you any trouble with the grip, Clint? It looks fairly slick.

I was afraid that might be the case but no it's proved to provide a very solid grip even with soapy wet hands. I have used it with my Gillette New LC because I find the common bar handle very slick.

Yet another great and efortless shave with The Sledgehammer fueled by the scent of cedarwood. This razor seems to work nicely with almost any blade and each consecutive shave gets better and better.

    April 12 Plans

    Stirling Sheep facial soap
    Merkur 37C slant bar razor
    Feather blade (day 1)
    Omega 10098 professional boar brush
    Arko shave stick & glycerin
    Two passes plus touch-ups
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Nivea Sensitive Post-Shave Balm

This will be my last day with the Arko shave stick and boar brush during April. The lather has been off the charts (both volume and quality) with this combo. To compare with something different, I will switch over to a badger brush and load the soap off a puck next week.

    Grace and Peace!

Day 11 of the FB focus:

    Homemade PS Oil
    Musco Real Classic SS
FB w/Gillette Silver Blue set on 5
    Vie-long Horsehair Brush
    Musco Real Classic AS

A late shave today as my wife, girls, and I are off to the Symphony for the night on a school trip. This was my second shave with the Musco Real, and it just really impresses me. Great sickness and protection, and the scent is just about perfect for me. A BBS except a few trouble spots on the neck. My face really liked this combination with the FB on 5, Gillette Silver Blue, and the soap.

There is one bad part of today's shave. Because it was so good and so late, I honestly will not need to shave tomorrow. Now, I may do it still, but I won't need to.

    Razor: Ever-Ready 1914
    Brush: Silvertip/Black handle
    Blade: Gem SE
    PSO: Homemade
    Soap: Jack's Soap.
    AS: Lucky Tiger

Okay it all started when I opened Doug's Den cabinet to prepare for my nightly shave. Everything I needed was right in front of me. I saw my new GEM SE blades and pulled them out to open the pack and see how they would fit in my Ever-Ready 1914 razor. I opened the pack and inserted the blade. The next thing I know I was applying my PSO, and readying myself for a shave that I wasn't supposed to have that day. Long story short enjoyed a 3 pass shave with the ER-1914 razor. Forgot my shower and most everything else. It was like some kind of time warp that I entered into.:yoda:yoda2

    Brush - VDH Boar
    Soap - Proraso

Post - Alum and A/V Ice Blue

Early Saturday again, as usual, so a quick two pass with the EJ89 and the Sharp Star on its sixth outstanding day! I'm definitely buying some of these in bulk. Hard to find but I have an inside source so I can get some to keep around. My face seems healed from the slice and dice routine a few days ago so back to the CJB tomorrow!

Last night's shave (Saturday Night) was a very hurried affair, as I was off loading a boat anchor of a TV (free) to someone who did not have one, and could not shower and shave until just before I was to head off to work. I also decided to try the Lord platinum blades that came with my Lord L6, back in November. I don't know if I am just not aware enough, but I can't tell the difference between the Wilkinson Sword or the Lords. I do know that I like the hand feel of the Schick Krona better than the thin handle of the Lord, even though the Lord is a heavier razor. Other than hacking my mole again (twice this week), the shave was smooth, and basically irritation free. I am really enjoying my foray into DE shaving this month!

Took my time and enjoyed a fantastic 3 pass BBS shave this morning. The blade is still going strong. I really like this soap. It's very slick and has a very nice scent. Not sure how it happened but this is the only tallow based soap I have at the moment. I'll need to correct that problem shortly.
