Smell will go away pretty quickly. Just do some test lathers with it. Omegas are my favorite brushes.
I'm pretty sure the old one is...it is currently safely stored where no one can get it, until we move and i put it back on the wall. And......Yes you can. Its fantastic and works great! It is. I can't wait to figure out how to set it to a schedule, etc.
I just got home from a weeklong business trip and there was pile of packages waiting for me. It was like Christmas
A friend from work has loaned me his tech twice, and the last time I didn't want to give it back. When paired with a really sharp blade, the little tech gives me 2 pass BBS shaves nearly every time. So, I've been looking a while for a decent Tech. Well today I found one in a box of estate sale junk. The box is a might beat up, but I sure was surprised to see what was inside.... A new C2 Tech, and an unopened box of Super Blues! (still has the cellophane on the box!) The razor is clean. No crud, rust, or corrosion that I can see on first inspection. I'm heading towards the sink to give her a scrub and a wipe down. I'll post the after pictures here in a bit! I'm happy! I'm happy! I'm happy!
As promised, Pictures from my explorations.. First, the Gillette Display case. Next the whole Gang The Before and After Scuttle (SO COOL!!) To Be continued....
And the rest.. A made in Pakistan Masonic straight razor. which will be used as a knife Another Shave Mug A vintage travel mirror. A black and chrome Twinplex stropper And late to the group photo PAL adjustable injector. The Colonel Conk Lime puck and STAG B752 PURE BRISTLE 100 refused to have an individual picture taken. It is now in the brig.
I have never seen one that old! Did you call HASMAT? Actually all those Eco-friendly CFL bulbs have Mercury in them so don't break them.
Right now we're renting a place that has never really been updated (as you can see). One other place we were in had an archaic mercury thermostat...and I think my parents just got rid of theirs. :/
Top three things I'll steal when I break in borrow when I visit; a) The Gillette display case, b) The PAL adjustable (please do post a review of that one...I'm curious how it is compared to the Star Trek one), c) That AMAZING scuttle!!
Received two things in the mail today: 1) A bottle of Myrsol Plastic shave. I couldn't wait until Monday so I opened it up and splashed some on. I am really surprised that the scent is a bit 'controversial' - to me the first things I thought of was "fresh" and "alcohol" - not bad at all! The amazing thing was the skin effect though - wow, this thing feels amazing on your face. I'll try it out some more but I can see how this could be a serious contender for my A/S top spot. Oh and the glass bottle is way cool. 2) The Thiers-Issard came back from Glen looking great and sharp!
You can probably sell the mercury thermostat to @Darkbulb. He likes old weird dangerous stuff! Just saying.
