    Aggressive April - Day 8 (4/14)

Prep: Hot shower w/ Grandpa's Pine Tar
Soap: TSD Barber Shoppe shave stick
    Brush: Omega 13522
    Razor: Cadet OC
    Blade: Astra SP
Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm

Bit pressed for time this morning. Did a quick 1 pass, XTG shave. Close enough, no irritation, not the greatest shave ever but good enough with the time constraints I had this morning.

Brush – Rubberset 400-3 with WSP HMW
    Lather – Soap Commander Confidence
Post - Witch Hazel and CC Bay Rum AS

Very good 2 pass work day shave this morning. This blade is quickly approaching the end. Not getting bad shaves but I can tell the blade is just not as effective. The Soap Commander lathered up easily an proved to be slick with good cushion. Just about done with this tub. Finished off with a splash of Captain's Choice Bay Rum.

I know, I'm a day behind Menthol Monday, but it was a perfect day for refreshing wake up shave!

Maiden voyage for my Dad's 1972 Black Handled Superspeed after a trip to Razor Emporium's Tune Up Service. Beautiful shave! A bit more aggressive than the DE87. Two passes without any touchups and I was close to BBS.

Prep was a hot water rinse with Aveeno facial cleanser.

Proraso Green brushed on by my Omega Pro 48's maiden lather voyage.

    Astra Sp blade.

Finished the shave with a cold water rinse, alum block, and AOS Sandlewood aftershave balm.

My favorite soap from WSO. Have two of them. Too bad he is out of the business at this moment.

    4/14/2015 Fat Tobacco Tuesday!!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Fat Boy (7), H. Boker straight razor
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (5)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: RazoRock - Tobacco #2
    After: Home made ASB
Cologne: Tom Ford - Tobacco Vanille

Wow, what a shave on Fat Tobacco Tuesday. The Tobacco #2 whipped so well with the Vie Long brush. I had enough thick lather to do 6 passes. The Fat Boy and the Boker did a fantastic job. The Tobacco Vanille was a great finish that will keep me smelling great all day long. Everything pulled together for an almost Baby Butt Smooth shave.

    Have a blessed day!

I agree, it's a winner; both in performance and scent. :happy108: However, a CH3 is and was the wrong choice for a brush. After the second pass, I reloaded, using my CH2 Synthetic and completed a BBS shave. The CH3 simply couldn't load enough product from the WSO small tin.

    image.jpg 25th Wedding Anniversary shave
    Razor: Gillette gold toggle (D1) 1958 (5) (3)
    Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Soap: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton Cologne Frosted Glass 1960

Special days call for special razors, and to me the toggle is as special as it gets. I believe I'm the only one to have ever shaved with it and It is by far the best shaving razor I have ever used. Two no pressure passes WTG XTG on 5 and one ATG on my neck on 3 with only a slight touchup around the scar on the right side of my neck. Very close, very smooth, no burn shave. The Castle Forbes played a role, as it gives a great slick cushion. Cucumber WH felt good, and after cleanup some JB gel, and Vintage OS Lime. A great shave for a great anniversary. Wow, she has put up with me for 25 years. Who knew? Love is the sweetest Taboo. (One of our favorite songs to play while we where at anchor on my old boat, back in the day)......
