I got a call from my 87 year old mother yesterday, she found my dad's razor and wanted to know if I wanted it. He passed away in 1985. It just needs some scrubbing bubbles to look like new. As I hold it I am amazed. Dad was a full bird Colonel in the Air Force, a judge advocate. He looked the part every day. I wonder how many times must he have used this little razor? I can't wait to use it.
Awesome story! My Dad recently gave me his SuperSpeed after I told him I started using a DE razor. It's truly a treasure when you are handed over a piece of history like that. Use that beauty in good health!
Used it this morning, it was wonderful. Personna Blue blade, Poraso pre-shave, Jack Black Cream, and Clubman a/s. I felt like my dad.
That right there is a true treasure. Congrats. Got any clean up pics?(It's a SS. I love them, and just wanna see more pics of them, LOL.)
It's nice to read stories like yours Paul. Enjoy that razor! It's a great shaver. It's my first choice when I go vintage. The late 40s Super Speeds are my favorites.
