So I bought some poraso sandlewood shave soap and I'm in love!! I'm pretty new yet to wet shaving but I think I've got my setup just the way I like it. Except for one thing....
I need the perfect aftershave! What I'm looking for is something that soothes AND moisturizes but the hard part is I want something that smells like that poraso. I thought maybe everyone here could save me a lot of time and money and point me in the right direction. Thanks!

What? And let you miss out on the thrill of the hunt? No way! What kind of enablers would that make us?
You have to try them all! :signs136:

Proraso makes an aftershave..Not sandalwood, but it meets all your other requirements.

Oh, the perfect aftershave? That's an easy one! lol

I wouldn't say it's perfect, but IMHO it Stetson Cooling Moisture goes well with Proraso Red. It's not Sandalwood (I think it's amber) but it matches nicely, and as the name suggests it cools and moisturizes.

Wait! What part of that name makes you think it is cool and moisturizing? ;)

Admittedly I have not used Proraso Sandalwood so I cant speak to a perfect match in scent but you can never go wrong with Stirling products and they have a Sandalwood Aftershave Balm that is super cheap compared to most aftershaves: http://www.stirlingsoap.com/sandalwood-witch-hazel-aloe-balm/

Wish I would have found them earlier! Very affordable. I'll try a few things from them.

Forgive me, I don't always remember that not everyone on the forum has the benefit of a classical education. In Greek, the word "stetson" literally translates to "cool and moisturizing". Sorry about the confusion!

I like the combination of Clubman with Poraso red. I think Clubman is very soothing after the initial burn.

the Osage Rub is great if you like menthol or another thing I do is mix Corn Huskers Lotion with a little bit of cologne/aftershave and it works great to protect and sooth the skin after a shave. it dries fast and you can customize the scent to your liking.

:eatdrink047:Sorry guys. I like the scent of clubman but I hate the way it feels. I just burns. For me it doesn't soothe. I like a cooling action. My favorite aftershave splash is actually skin bracer. I love that smell and the way it cools but it dries out my skin too much. So I know I'm being kind of picky but id like to find that one stop shop of cooling aftershave with a bit of moisture. And the right scent. I'm really in love with that proraso. I ordered a couple different aftershave balms. Let's wait and see what I come up with. thanks fellas :eatdrink047:

Why not splash on the Skin Bracer, then chase it with a balm or lotion?

Wet shaving I've got enough steps. I want a one stop shop aftershave.

I ran out of the Stetson aftershave and plan to pick some up this weekend. It has a great masculine smell and moisturizes better than a lot of aftershaves I've tried. I bought my last bottle after many years of not using any Stetson, and the scent was very nice - much more so than the cologne spray/perfume. Stetson isn't my main aftershave, but I really like it.

I usually put on a balm and then add the splash. The best of both worlds.

For Sandlewood, I really like the scent of AoS's Sandlewood aftershave balm. It's quite soothing and moisturizing. It leaves a light scent that lasts a good part of the day for me.
