Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bolzano (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (7, 8, 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
    Cologne: Velvet Mood (sample)

Today I learned an important lesson: Do not try to go ATG on the upper lip with a Bolzano loaded in the Bamboozled RAKE. Everything else about the shave was wonderful - including the lather from my too-long neglected Coffee Jasmine puck - but the ATG pass produced a rather nasty little nick that is quite persistent. Three shaves, three examples of bloodshed on the upper lip. . . I may be slow on the uptake, but even I can figure that lesson out. BBS results mean I will easily have the luxury of giving that nick a day to heal, though.

All the stars aligned today for a fantastic work morning shave, very near a BBS. Since this is my first use of a B&M soap, I skipped any prep except for my morning shower. After blooming the soap, I whipped up a fantastic lather. Having noted that the soap could be thirsty, I added water to the brush as I face lathered. This is one seriously slick soap. In fact there was enough residual slickness to clean up the trouble areas with just water. The post shave feel was great and ended with just a splash of Witch Hazel followed by Myrsol F/Extra. The Myrsol had very little burn and left my face feeling great. What a nice way to finish off the week. Happy Friday everyone.

Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko
    Razor - CJB
    Blade - [IMG] (6)
    Post - Alum, Clubman

Kamisori style again with the CJB. One hand, one side of the blade only. A couple of minor nicks on the left cheek and next to the goatee line while positioning my hand right. Otherwise a very decent shave. Due to time constraints I finished the last pass with the SS and Bic and finished DFS. All in all a good morning with the CJB.

Today I face lathered MDC instead of my usual lathering in the scuttle. When I face lather I always get a better shave, seeming to be slicker and with more cushioning than a bowl lather. I also know that I use way less product when face lathering. However, despite it being more effective and more efficient, I will continue to routinely use the scuttle because I just like it better. I know, there is no logic in this.

Well, you know the old saying:
"It's your shave…be as illogical as you want!" :D

I've moved away from scuttles and bowls and have become pretty much exclusively a face-latherer. By doing this, you find out fairly quickly which of the soaps yield the good lather with relative ease!

    Barbasol Arctic Chill w/menthol
    Gillette Slim Adjustable (5) w/7 o'clock Blue (5)
    Dickinson's WH
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Barbasol Pacific Rush AS

Two passes WTG & XTG and a little touch up for a CCS that wakes you up in the morning. Have a great weekend!

Every once in a while I like to prove to myself that technique is the most important part of the shave and use Barbasol. There's something about Barbasol that I have a soft spot for and still find it very appealing. Plus, the scents are nice and clean and personally I think it's the best canned shaving cream out there. The menthol and the yellow (w/lanolin) are my favorites and still give me great shaves. Of course, YMMV..................

I used mine 7 times and can't see any change other than the sharp edges rounded off. Im guessing these bowls will last for ever.

No it is the iKon Bamboo handle and I like it alot. To me the cutouts work perfectly for resting my finger(s) when using the razor XTG, ATG or any other angle. Just fits perfectly and love the weight and balance it has with the ATT heads as well as other heads.

    Brush: e-shave finest Badger
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream

Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Pinaud Clubman AS
Back with the Gillette New LC again, and I'm looking forward to another good shave with it. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. Looks good and I'm really liking this razor. Whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug. The warm Maca Root lather felt real good on my sensitive face after yesterday's Adventure. First pass was very close, and the razor sang a nice tune to let me know how it was going. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. No buffing today to give my face a rest. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB balm. Finished up with some Pinaud Clubman AS! Looks like another rainy night on the way...

Prep: hot shower and face wash with castille bar soap
Lather: St. James of London Mandarin & Patchouli cream
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Rapira Stainless
    Post: Ogallala Bay Rum

Pretty much of a cold water shave today - primarily tepid water for lather and cold water rinses of the razor and face between passes. Face lathered the cream with the horsehair brush and had a nice slick, but not thick, coating for 3 passes. Weber and Rapira paired well to provide a near BBS shave.
