Same here. The very first time I opened my Clubman, I was a bit put off by the strong lemon orange and citrusy top notes. I remember being aggravated saying to myself that I'd be just as well off rubbing a few lemons all over me. lol. I put it on and noticed the dry down stages were each uniquely offering a different facet of the complex scents. I also noticed my skin a litte softer. In less than a week, I preferred Clubman much more than my other aftershaves (I had a total of about 35, including the entire Master Style & Comb line). Ive also come to appreciate the Clubman Musk more, too. It is a similar scent to Clubman but a bit sweeter top note, and IMHO it is everything that Brut tried to be but fell utterly short of delivering. (I grew up on Brut and still like it - Im not hating). Oh, and cant forget the Clubman Talc Powder either...
My current AS cocktail favorite is a palm of 50/50 Clubman Original and Classic Vanilla, then a half palm of Aqua Velva Musk and a few drops of 'the VEG'....
You'll still have a whiff of Fine's aftershave 5-6hrs after applying. Also check out Folsom & Company along with Country Club.
I am lucky. My wife says it smells nice. (Even though I know it probably isn't her favorite) I find Clubman Pinaud after a little Masters Bay Rum makes a nice layered scent
Mine too. Even use it as body splash. Regular deodorant clogs my pores. Get a wiff even in the afternoon.
I buy the BIG bottles of it!!!! Then I decant it into an old Aqua Velva 1776 Bottle. I love it in plastic, but in glass.....Even Better!!!!
