I shaved the L'Occitone soap puck to fit a cool yellow Thrift Store mug the wife found for me. It seemed like a perfect match. I did some reading and am looking forward to trying the "spoiler" blade for the first time.

I used MDC all this week and plan on using it again all next week. I am also still face lathering (3rd day) and am still convinced that it is better for me to face lather because I end up with a better shave. However, I still don't enjoy it as much as bowl lathering. But, I will continue for a few days and see if my mind changes.

Good Morning! Sunday is my day to change my razor & blades.

    This morning's shave was excellent which consisted of;

    TOBS Avocado w/Country Uncle Silvertip
    Schick G1 Injector
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    True Gentlemen Unscented Balm
    Clubman Classic Vanilla Aftershave

Two passes WTG & XTG with a little touch up for a DFS (practically BBS) shave!

    Friends,

moments ago i had a shave just as i like it. My chin is completely and heavily irritated, but nevertheless the shave was great. I shaved with cold water. Fresh and crisp...

Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica soap // Gillette Fat Handle Tech // Feather Blade // Bethlehem Olivewood Handle w. Mühle Black Synthetic Fibre knot // Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica Aftershave

That was just what i needed after a hard working week. The soap is outstanding and the Fat Handle Tech is a very very nice combination with the Feather blade. The Feather had it´s 2nd use today. Great blade!!! Smooth and gentle. All in all a shave, which kicked my mood to a great level. I am relaxed now and can enjoy the rest of the evening.

Have a great time, enjoy yoiur shaves and take care of you.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Post - Alum, The Veg

Increased the difficulty level today by moving from the Kai Mild MG blade with the guards to the Mild without the guards. I soon learned how the guard blade really works. By running the guard wires down the side of the blade it limits the angle where the blade can actually contact the face. Without the guards the entire range of angles is suddenly available. This increases the chance of user error exponentially.

Only three incidents. One is a cut near the left ear as I set the blade down. Wanted to ride the tip and as I corrected it I felt the bite. Second was another small cut on the lower right neck when I changed the angle at the end of a pass. Third was two nicks under the chin as I tried ATG. Nicks while doing that have been fairly common but less frequent over the weeks.

All in all two good passes, some blood but nothing of consequence. Did a quick third pass with the SS/Bic combination on the neck just to smooth things out a bit. Alum was nice and fiery and the Veg was a body splash again today.

Here's a close up of mild against the guard.

Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake Razor, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point

A magnificent snake shave! My new Mastro Livi Snake Razor is absolutely amazing. A breathtaking stunning beauty made of CarboInox Steel with a very keep and super sharp edge, giving the very best shave ever. I love this CarboInox pattern: Mastro Livi Twisted Damascus Steel in the external layers of the San Mai, stainless steel in the middle layer. Not to mention the artistic touch of blue carbon damascus dots inserted in the stainless steel, giving a beautiful and stunning effect: simply a sign of the endless genius of Mastro Livi, a proof of superior craftsmanship and art. I also used Mastro Livi badger brush, his well known loom strop and the excellent Martin De Candre soap, then a generous splash of my RazorGuy Bay Rum: simply the perfect way to inaugurate my new, exclusive and unique Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake Razor. I love this razor!

Sunday April, 19 2015 "Sunday Shave"

Prep: Hot shower, St. Ives face wash for deep clean
Preshave: Homemade pre shave oil with Peppermint essential
    Soap: Proraso Sapone
    Brush: Omega 10065
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Astra SP
After Shave: Gentleman Jon Alum, Witch Hazel Peppermint infused, Proraso Pre/post, Proraso Balm

Thoughts: I been on this shave on the "cheap" experiment here the last month as part of my April focus and what fun it has been. I just purchased the Wilkinson Sword Classic razor and what a great treat it ended up being to shave with! I wasn't to sure on how the razor would shave do to it being mainly made of plastic but I was soon surprised once I started. This razor has some weight to it with the metal counter balance in the handle, it makes for enough weight for the razor to shave on its own efficiently with no pressure needed. The razor is very very forgiving as it is very mild but i didn't need much touch up after the shave. The best part of this razor was how cheap it is, it would make for a great starter razor for a new shaver. Hope everyones shave was just as good! God bless! Shave on and Enjoy!

Like a newbie, shaving for the very first time.
Sorry just been listening to Madonna. BUT I do feel like newbie.
Last week the goatee was removed. This left a problem.
I have never used a safety razor on my upper lip or chin. So the last few shaves have been weird. Great shave on my neck and cheeks rubbish shave on the chin and above the lip.

Today's shave went a bit better went with a good reliable razor today.

Glad you had such a pleasant experience. I too love to find products that allow me to shave on the cheap, have some variety and still get the job done well. I have a Wilkinson sword classic razor on the way ( it is shipping from the UK), I should get it in the next 2-3 weeks, I'm really looking forward to using it.

This morning I had another DFS with my current favorite razor, a merkur 25c.

What I love about the 25c is that it is very mild and comfortable to use yet I consistently get a DFS bordering on a BBS shaven with zero irritation or weepers.

    Todays line up.

Thank you! It really is enjoyable to shave on the cheap, of course i have my fair share of expensive products. But its nice to save a ton of money and get the same quality shaves the expensive stuff gives you. I hope your shave goes just as good as mine did! Let me know how you like it!

Just a second thought i seen that you could get the Wilkinson Sword Classic razor in a small shaving kit for a little over $20 with soap and a brush on the Bay if anyone else gets curious to wanna try it. I had jumped the gun and just bought one before looking a little harder at prices :p
