they had them a good while ago (when I first joined) and then they lost them to a software upgrade. Whatevs. I had a flying super tux penguin back then.... before I claimed my czardom.
Stuck in meetings all day on a project I don't like, but I know others have it much worse so trying not to complain too much.
When I left this morning, my wife was yelling at my 18 year old daughter to get up and help her clean the house. Rewind: 1998, Sunnyvale California 7:30am-ish my wife getting 3 young boys ready for school, a 2 year old daughter running around yelling and acting up. Now in Sunnyvale you can not mow your lawn until after 11am, and not after 3pm. Oh btw no gas equipment, electric only. Back to 7:30am. A knock on the door? Who could be knocking on the door this early? Wife opens door, Sunnyvale Police officer! Ma'am is there a problem here? Wife looks around and says, do you want to come in and get my kids ready for school? Just keep it down. And he leaves. No one called, this is what they do, creep down the street.
Wow, I don't think I'd like living in Sunnyvale. I spend half my time ticked off at the homeowner's association as it is.
It's official! Turned in my 2 weeks today! I feel 20 lbs lighter. Then I called down to the Admin office to see if I could borrow their sound system to announce tonight's ballgame (like I was asked to do), and was told by the secretary, "I'll have to check with the superintendent and get back to you on that." This sort of crap is chief among the reasons I'm leaving.
How safe can a city be when it's situated on a hell-mouth and has a demon for a mayor. Thank goodness for Buffy!
