Fantastic BBS 3 pass shave this morning. Did end up with one little nick but that was user error. I need to be aware of the increased blade exposure and gap when using the Super Pro blades. As usual the Catie's Bubbles proved very easy to lather. Not quite as slick as some of my other soaps but still an excellent soap. Finished with witch hazel and a splash of Captain"s Choice Sandalwood aftershave. The CC pairs great with the sandalwood soap. Hope everyone has a great week.

A new blade and set on 8?! Wow, don't know how the FB is cranked but I cranked my Slim up in that range once and learned real fast, YOU GOTTA GO SLOOOW!! Never tried a Rapira blade but think I have one in my sampler pack. Think I'll give it a try!

The Rapira PL is my goto blade. I have been doing a FB focus this month, because I just never really seemed to get a good shave from it. My previous experience was similar to your experience, but this focus has opened my eyes to the more aggressive settings. I can tell you that I will likely use the FB in the 7-8 range 90+% from here on out. I am very glad I did this focus as I now love the FB, and I was really considering getting rid of it.

[IMG]I took a respite form shaving yesterday, so I was really looking forward to this morning's shave. My 30 day shave den did NOT disappoint. Before spending so much time with MdC, I was one of the ones who lamented the post-shave experience as being a bit dry. Now that I have been using MdC exclusively for the past 12 shaves, I stand by my original assessment--MdC does not provide the smooth, soft post-shave feeling as others soaps can; i.e. Mystic Water, Stirling, to name two.
    Have a great day!

    4/27/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Slim (3), H. Boker Master Razor straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (4)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Cuir Cannage

It was a cold shave this morning. The #6 brush whipped up the Frozen Tundra into a cold, thick and slick lather. The Slim and the Boker did a fine job knocking down the stubble. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Cuir Cannage will have me smelling great all day.

    Have a blessed day!

Me too - love that Frozen Tundra. I admit it's not at the same freeze level as my Glacials but it's pretty damned cold nonetheless.

I tried 3 Stirling samples. I'll write my thoughts on each in the Stirling Review thread later:

    Soap:
    1) Texas on Fire (WTG)
    2) Nag Champa (XTG)
    3) Lavedar Sage (ATG and touch ups)

Razor: R89 with Super Iridium Blade

    Post:
    1) Thayers Lavendar liberally applied
    2) Aqua Velva
    3) Jovan Musk

    Cologne: Dolce Gabana

*Only a couple weepers on my neck. None on my face and got my face BBS. I cant keep my hands off my face when I shave it BBS...y'all like that, too?*

I agree with you, using Stirling as an example the post shave feel isn't the same with MdC. Stirling outshines!

How do you find the Glacial Spearmint lathers for you? I'm using a new puck I just bought and it's terrific. The lather builds much, much better now and I find the menthol effect even stronger than before. :)

A few nicks and slight irritation. I don't think Bic blades are for me. I'll have to try it one more time.

2 passes (XTG, ATG) and I'm out the door. :scared007:
