    Monday Shave

    Pre: Shower
    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Voskhod, x2*
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: VDH
    Post: Gameday

*I put in a fresh Voskhod blade, got about half way through the first pass it started cutting my face. Bad blade! Took it out and completed with another fresh Voskhod. No problems after that, but no fun shaving with a couple of bleeders!

Yesterdays shave was great ,a DFS and very comfortable.

    The gear,
    1956 superspeed.
    Baili stainless blade (3)
    omega 10049 boar brush.
    arko shave stick.
    jeris musk aftershave.

I really believe the arko stick may be the best value in wet shaving. It is very inexpensive yet is a wonderful performer.

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Omega Pro 49 boar brush
    '62 Gillette Slim
    Rapira Super Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Classic Vanilla

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Omega Pro 49 boar brush. Two passes with my '62 Gillette Slim razor and a Rapira Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Classic Vanilla after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Tuesday morning's plans:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 2
Stirling Frozen Tundra SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

A small step down in the menthol level, but still a very cold shave on tap for me - the Frozen Tundra has a great scent which right away lets you know that it's a very mentholated soap. Although the lather is a bit slow to start building, once you get it going it becomes very rich, thick, and slick with great blade glide and wonderful skincare. I absolutely love the Gold Bond's extra cooling feeling, and a couple of splashes of the Penguin are a terrific way to end a terrific shave. ;) :D

    SOTD - TUESDAY, APRIL 28

Razor: 1958 Gillette Executive (24kt gold plated)
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Butterscotch Silvertip
    Bowl: Pfaltzgraff
    Soap: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

    4-28-15.JPG

Still really enjoying my Executive. This morning I only needed a very quick 2 pass shave (XTG, ATG) because yesterday’s shave was so close. Looking forward to using the Sharp Dressed Man again. IMO it’s a bit tough to get a lather started, but once started it creates plenty and has a wonderful slickness to it. I wish the scent lasted a bit longer.

    Schick L5 Revere
    Schick plus platinum (2)
    Williams mug soap
    Surrey(?) Brush
    Aqua Velva ice blue AS

Another damn smooth/easy shave with the Schick. This thing just glides over my face with no effort at all. No dragging, nicks, scrapes, or stinging! If I didn't get a smoother(face) shave and like the DE razors so much, I'd be hooked on these guys.

I just got the Surrey mug and brush yesterday, had to give them a run today. The brush is an excellent brush and will be used regularly. The mug on the other hand, while very nice and a new collector item I'll be looking for, is too deep for a comfortable handle on the brush while lathering... A long handle brush would be better.

I have always had trouble getting anything close to a lather with Stirling soaps. It is the coldest thing in my den but Ive got too many great products to waste any more time with it. I know Im in the minority on this but I'll take my Vostok any day.
