    Merkur Futur (right handed)

    Polsilver SI blade (3)
    Vie Long horse hair brush
    Myrsol Emulsion pre shave
    HTGAM Gondolier shave soap
    Myrsol Agua Balsamica aftershave

The two Myrsol products were absolutely perfect this morning and I'm going back to them again tomorrow. The post shave feel is still great 11hrs later. I've been using pricey french soaps and cream lately and figured I better try something not on the top shelf for a change. I own four different HTGAM soaps and really enjoy them all for their ease of lather and nice strong scents.

Thursday morning will be an "Antique Shave" for me:

    Nivea Facial Wash
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 4
    Vintage Colgate Shaving Stick :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Booster Polar Ice AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    YSL Pour Homme EdT

Here's another fabulous ANCIENT stick which I purchased from a gentleman in Sweden, and it shows that there's nothing like the old-time stuff. A real nice stick which smells classy, clean, soapy, and manly with good lather and skincare. The Lubriderm is also a very soothing moisturizer which kills any dryness or irritation right away. Don't be fooled by the name because although the Polar Ice is its name, there's no cooling effect from it - but I still think it's a great aftershave. ;) :D

    Dove Men Face Wash
Kiss My Face Cool Mint moisture shave
    Omega Pro 49 boar brush
    '62 Gillette Slim
    Rapira Super Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Classic Vanilla

The Kiss My Face Cool Mint moisture shave face-lathered well with my Omega Pro 49 boar brush. Two passes with my '62 Gillette Slim razor and a Rapira Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Classic Vanilla after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    New combo
I tried Tabac cream as a pre-shave today. It worked well as the scent added another dimension to Diamond while also boosting the lather (not that Diamond needs a boost). I think this blade is a dud, though because it was rougher than expected in a second use. Sherlock was a very nice finish with a welcome menthol cool and scent. I'd use this combo again.

    Prep: face wash, Tabac cream
    Soap: B&M Diamond
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Der vorschlaghammer
    Blade: voskhod
    AS: Chiseled Face Sherlock

I had a fantastic shave just now with my Colgate shaving stick - this old man sure knows how to lather up like a champ. Great scent, and pretty good skincare also. I think it's the forerunner of the Palmolive stick.

Wonderful shave. Mickey Lee Soaps are the real deal! The Drunken Goat lathers on its own, slick, cushion-y, I'll have a better idea about the post shave later, scent? Wow! Guinness beer and chocolate cookies.

    Prep: hot shower
Lather: St. James of London Mandarin & Patchouli
Brush: Made Rite with TGN Finest
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Merkur Super (3)
Post: Cool rinse and Captain's Choice Cat

I received this brush yesterday from @HoosierTrooper. He restored it with a TGN Finest. It took me a bit to tamp down the copious amounts of lather and ended up starting over with a drier brush and it did fine. The brush is soft and a bit floppy but fans out and pretty much covers my entire face. It did a fine job. Otherwise it was an uneventful 2 pass shave. You may notice that the cream jar is almost empty. I expect 3-5 more shaves from it.

Wade & Butcher, 6/8 Full Hollow, Spike Point

Wade & Butcher razors are among my favorite shavers. A glorious firm about straight razor making, they are still today among the very finest around. This shave has also been the occasion to test, for the first time, my latest aftershave which I called Thyrrenus, a tribute to the mythological Etruscan figure who was said to be one of the founders of the Etruscan League consisting of twelve cities. One of those cities was Perugia - my city - therefore this aftershave is also a tribute to ancient Etruscans, the noble and well civilized people who founded "Perusna" - now called "Perugia" - more than 3000 years ago. RazorGuy Thyrrenus is amazingly refreshing with a balsamic touch of eucalyptus and menthol, a sort of ice breeze caressing the skin, something I wanted to make for summertime shaves. I am very happy with it!
    • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
    • Soap: Tea Eucalyptus Shaving Cream
    • Brush: Omega Bristle 80266
    • Bowl: Old Barber Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Wade & Butcher, 6/8 Full Hollow, Spike Point
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: RazorGuy Thyrrenus

I've been finding that I get the most comfortable, bloodless shaves with pristine, higher end old carbon blades. Black Beauties, Super Blues, Gillette Thins. I don't know why. If it's because they're sharper or less so, I don't know.
P.S. I've found your reference material to be spot on and invaluable in my wet shaving journey. All your opinions have lined up perfectly with what I've concluded as well. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge.

hope y'all did as well, or better.

    Gem Junior razor (w/baton handle)
    CVS carbon steel blade
    Lord SC
    WD Silver Tip brush
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel/Sage mix
    M&L Florida Water cologne

The Gem Junior is rapidly becoming a favorite. Easy to get a great shave with it and the bulky handle feels just fine in my hand. Great shave and I"m ready to go.

    April 30, 2015 - Week 5 Day 5
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
Soap - St. Charles Shave Sandalwood
    Razor - '46 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG](2)
Post - Alum, Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm

Final day of April and I finished on the setup I used yesterday with the exception that I changed to my Omega Pro 48 to try and improve the St. Charles Shave lather. The first pass seemed like the lather was better. I used more water than yesterday and loaded more soap before face lathering. Second and third passes were ok but the amount of lather was significantly less by the time I finished. Very thin on the third lather. I will have to revisit this soap and try bowl lathering at some point. I really want it to work. Just have to dial it in.

On to MAYhem. Hope everyone is ready for International Worker's Day tomorrow! Boil the potatoes and onions and stock up on caviar and vodka!
