Lou, the soap really IS a quality soap—but the scent!………I suspect a PIF may be in the future!
Re: Red Imp— the majority of these Imps seem to always be the standard 5/8. This 6/8 is one of the few i've ever come across, especially in such good condition. The only other one I've seen had some serious rust issues.
This one also has a deadly spike point that keeps me on my toes throughout the shave! ;)

I agree on the soap. It is a good soap if you can handle the scent, however Caties has some that are a lot better
    1) le piment de le vie - an OMG soap
    2) Jardin De or - wonderful
    3) Rose Du mechant - best rose ever
    4) la Gardenia - my wife chases me all over the house when I use this one. It is her favorite

image.jpg Razor: Dubl Duck Special #1 1947-52 (rescaled)
Gillette New LC Bar Handle 1930s
    Brush: Vintage Ever-Ready 675 badger
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: TOBS Coconut cream
    Blade: Feather (4)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS Frosted Glass 1960s

Day 3 with the Dubl Duck. Lathered up the TOBS with the badger. Spent extra time hydrating my beard, so I could try to get closer with the Duck. Started like my last shave going from my sideburn to my jaw line on my right side, and my left side with my left hand. That went so well I did my neck on my left side. Looking good, so left hand right hand going easy trying to figure out the best approach. Getting better and a little closer. Not pushing my luck I stopped there and finished with my FB, and only needed 1 pass. Still working all the angles, but getting better. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some vintage OS Lime. Y'all have a good one.

Sounds like you are moving right along with the SR. Definitely gonna have to find something shave ready so I can give it a try! Love the old school ways and look forward to your posts to see how you are progressing.

001 (2).jpg Kropp 6/8 + Made in England, ground in Hamburg. An ebay purchase for less than $50. Really nice shaver
Soap - Le Pere Lucien and a dab of St James of London cr. ème for a wonderfully pleasing ubelather
AS - just a balm. Soap commander Passion. I have both the Passion & the Love, both are extremely nice balms that leave your face feeling soft, smooth and not oily. They have a menthol added that kicks in in about 10 minutes. Not a real menthol fan but I love these balms. No need for a splash

I've been rather impressed by the Kropp razors that have passed through. One currently is in my SR rotation. One I restored & PIF'd and the other I sold. All were very nice razors that took keen edges easily. Big bang for the buck!
