Fantastic 3 pass shave this morning. Chased the baby and got it caught it. ;) I'm not normally a cream guy but received the AOS Sandalwood cream as a gift from the family. It's super easy to lather and very slick. Finished up with witch hazel and a splash of Captain's Choice Sandalwood. The motorcycle is packed and I'm ready to pull out after lunch today. Looking forward to a weekend sanity break. Hope everyone has a great Friday and an even better weekend.

Today I used AOS Sandalwood. While I think the scent is the best Sandalwood available, the lather definitely lacks what I expect in cushioning. 3 passes, 2 nicks, and a DFS finish.

Gents, Mickey Lee The Drunken Goat is fantastic! It's everything we want in a soap and some. The lather stays a beige color, most if not all times a soap turns white. Slick, cushion-y, very easy to lather, the best smelling soap I've smelled. My ER150 Burna Shave edition whipped up a pile of lather. iKon SC101 was great. Folsom & Co. Muir reminds me of the woods.

    Blade: Feather Professional Light (5)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Stirling - Ben Franklin
    After: Home made ASB
    Cologne: Gravity

Happy Friday! The Ben Franklin smells like a strong root beer. The #6 brush did a fine job whipping the Ben Franklin into a nice lather. The Cobra and the Frenchy did a fine job mowing down the stubble. The Gravity was a nice finish to a 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Ended up with just an average shave this morning. Couldn't get a decent lather and the soap ended thick and heavy, plugging the razor. I know why I don't use the Merkur 180 often as its just too mild and I can't get a close shave with it.

Roger, you may need to work the lather more while adding water. Paint-brush strokes, forcefully, applied will result in a much stable and creamier lather. Load for longer and work it for longer than usual. Once you get it right, this soap is one of the best there is. I have been using it for almost four years and love it for its scents, slickness, creamy lather, post-shave, inexpensive price and the fact that it is still available in pucks which I conform into my shave-sticks.
    Good luck. :)

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (10, 11, 12)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
    Cologne: Forest Aoud by Montale

Went heavy on the RR in finishing out the Bamboozled April. Great lather, as always, but the Bic's age got me a weeper under the chin on the XTG pass. Still wound up with BBS result, but I'm going to change the blade and use the 41c for a few days, so I can recall the difference in how the two shave more clearly.

Finally had the shave I was hoping this razor could deliver. Read more ramblings here

    Razor: Pils 101NE
    Blade: Feather
    Brush: L'Occitane Plisson
    Soap: Soap Commander Endurance

    Also tried two samples of products I've never used before;
Edwin Jagger Pre-Shave lotion for sensitive skin, and
Geo F Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food.

    Edwin Jagger
I never use any pre-shave products and even though I rather liked the feel of this product I don't see myself starting to use a dedicated pre-shave product regularly...unless......what if it was the pre-shave lotion that gave me this great shave today....oh......

    Trumper
I really liked the scent and it gave a passable moisturizing and tightening effect. Not quite on par with other products like Myrsol so probably not a product I'll get in the future.

Here's the best way to freeze your face off and to smell nice both during and after a shave, as well as to have a great time while you're doing it. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap is so loaded with menthol goodness that you feel it as soon as your brush makes contact with your face, and the longer it's on there the colder it seems to get. That zesty lemony scent drives me bonkers every time I smell it, and it leaves you feeling frozen and so comfortable. The Gold Bond combined with the Rubby Dubby Doo is such a nice way to finish off! ;) :D
