I just got this vintage brass brush handle today, ripped the boar out of it and threw in some fresh badger. A lot smaller than I expected, but I think it looks nice. Too bad I could not set the knot deeper, that would have been perfect.
I don't know, that outlet in the background sort of kills the moment Nice work! I see that one little Rooney... J
$2,000 in brushes in that pic (give or take) and you're looking at the outlet? (Isaac...depressing when you add it up, huh? )
Well, there's a couple missing from the pic here. I had to box up my Beauforts because I ran out of room on the brush rack when I added in the 3 Emperor Supers. Umm.. oh yeah, the Chubby 3 Super or the X1 Best isn't in the picture either. Crap.. I ned to figure out where I'm going to put those
Michael, that is a cool photo. What kind of brush is that, and do all from that brand have the circles on the bottom? Kind of neat. Mike, I look at your photo and can't help but wonder if you are taking anything for your OCD... I mean, you have three colors of Barber Poles. . . :happy102 (sorry, just jealous.)
Thank you. It is my favorite brush, a Simpson Tulip T2. To the best of my knowledge, the Tulips are the only brushes with the bull's eye pattern. Even though you rarely look at that part of the brush, I think it's a nice touch.
That is a great brush, I have one just like it I have seen a Polo #8 with the circles turned on the base of the handle....but one one and I think it was a rarity. Maybe one of the brush makers added a bit of flair from time to time when they got bored? It does look great
Here's 2 I made out of Bolivian Rosewood along with my Progress that I modded. Making the small knob for the Progress was harder then turning the brush handles. They're so small that 1 slip and they're history.
