Another hot, humid day coming up for tomorrow. What's the solution? Lots of menthol!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, I can feel the frigidness already - just thinking about the Glacial Lemon Chill soap with its delightful lemony/icy menthol scent and rich, slick lather makes me want to take it out for a shave right now, but I'll wait until the morning. That freezing sensation is da BOMBBBBBBBBBBBB. The skincare of this soap is top-of-the-line as well. The Gold Bond provides everything I need from a balm also, because it's so cooling and protective. I'll be very generous with the Penguin so I can feel frozen all day. My SuperMax Blue seems to be getting a bit tired but I'm sure it'll keep going for this shave and Sunday's.

I got this Schick in an auction and it came with a faux horn handle. The handle disintegrated, so I made my own wooden handle for it. It is not as extremely neat as my dad's handle, but it was his that inspired this.

 

Oh la la, again I forgot to include the music I'll be listening to tomorrow morning. This is from a terrific party which my wife and I went to when we were in Guadeloupe last year. The DJ was playing all kinds of awesome music, such as soukouss, R&B, salsa, meringue, and zouk. This song is my wife's favourite.

 

Those WSP Rustic soaps are awesome. I'm loving the samples I got on Ebay, especially "Mahogany".

 

Thank you. It's far from mint, but I love the look and character. I found it at a local antique store on my birthday, and It's a great little shaver.

 

In my opinion Ralon is better performance wise and I'm really enjoying the smell of it. I didnt try the swiss Pitralon yet so keep that in mind

   Worked outside today so I shaved in shower to save time.
   
   Merkur Mergress (converted Progress) long handle set at 3.5 , Wilkinson Sword and canned Aveeno (TOBS cream and brush got the day off). BBS supreme! This is one of my favorite razors in rotation.

The Tiger blade is sharp but seems to be more irritating to my face. I can get my face BBS, and even got my neck to a DFS tonight, but dang I get weepers with these blades. Looks more like I had a tiger hanging off my neck than a Tiger razor blade. Im glad I tried these, tho. I have a few more blades to try yet...

The Cryogen crop came in this afternoon, and they were not kidding that this is soft soap. They advertised it as a crop, but mine is more like a cream which actually worked out better as it was easier to mix in the EO's that I wanted. Now I see why they decided to forgo adding a fragrance as it took a boatload of 5 fold Lemon, Lime and a touch of Valencia Orange to override the menthol blast in their Cryogen. Giving the soap a test run but possible I might be adding in some additional EO's to this. Only used half the jar and will come up with another blend after some thought. Going to make tomorrow a Lemon themed day starting out with a bar of homemade lemon zest soap courtesy of @Hodge and finish up with Agua De Colonia​

This was the last shave with my Parker heavy duty TTO. I am going to give it away in a PIF soon. It's a decent razor but I have decided that for TTOs, I will only keep the vintage ones which I have had restored. The Parker razor is moderately aggressive; maybe just a bit more so than a Red-Tipped Gillette Super Speed. However, I find it a somewhat less forgiving than the Red-Tip. With light pressure and good control of the blade angle, this razor can easily deliver the BBS goods.
Now as for the brush... grrrrrr!! This brush sucks. Love the handle (that's why I bought it), hate the "bristles". I am certain this brush was trimmed to shape with scissors. For a brush that retails for about US $45.00, this is inexcusable. Currently I am experimenting with various ways of getting the clipped hairs to develop split ends. If I am not successful, you will see this brush coming to a PIF near you. Might be good for one of you guys out there who has leather-like skin or a complete lack of nerve endings on your face. If I get rid of this brush, I might get the same one but with the "HI-BRUSH" synthetic bristles instead.

Terrific Tabacstag!
Yesterday's shave felt rougher by the end of the day, so I went to an old friend. Tabac never fails me, and the New LC is very efficient and forgiving. I made überlather with Tabac cream and soap over a base of Mickey Lee preshave butter. The result is a very smooth and happy face and neck. Cologne Russe finished it up right.

 

Oh baby - what a super-duper shave I had just now with the Glacial Lemon Chill soap. It's from one of Rod's older batches but it lathers so EASILY, not to mention the menthol freeze it gives. The skincare this soap gives is perfect - it left my face feeling not only frozen, but also so smooth and very, very comfortable. The Penguin gave me a ton of extra menthol goodness.

2 pass shave. Bowl lathered with the fan shaped TGN finest and it did fine. I do believe I have to work a little harder with badgers and soaps compared to creams, but the lather was good for today's shave.
