I'm perversely proud my blade 'won.' It is truly the worst blade I ever tried, nothing came close.

It really is a case of YMMV because I find the Cryogen a little colder than any Glacial soap. Not a big difference, but still detectable. The Glacials have better skincare indeed.

Jeff, I bought a "mistake" from Chiseled Face, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the coldness of the soap.

Hmmmmmm, my Cryogens are soft like that too. They do lather well, but some effort is needed - even more than with my Glacials. :)

It lathered really easy, but the lather started to fade on my face rather fast.

DFS this morning with neck being a CCS. My friends gave me a candle that can apparently be used as a lotion to the skin. I used that as a pre-shave. It was sorta oily but smelled nice. I really wanted this candle/lotion hybrid to use as a lathering bowl.

Pre: oily local artisan made candle/lotion thingy

    Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain

    Razor: R-89

Post: Thayers Lemon Witchazel, and some Master Checkered Flag combined with Pinaud Clubman

Cologne: Another 10-12 spritzing spree of Dolce Gabana

I used unscented MDC with AOS Sandalwood today for an excellent lather and a very nice 3 pass BBS shave. The more I use MDC, the more I like it.

My lather stays stable once it gets going but I must admit I don't get the same pleasure as with a Glacial soap.

Kerry is correct. I ordered the "crop" version as did Kerry and the crop or at least mine has the consistency of yogurt unlike the regular Cryogen. Also I did not see any menthol crystals throughout the top of the soap like the regular version. My crop is not as cold as the regular version of cryogen but more along the lines of my spearmint glacial, glacial mojito and the lavender but more so than my Tundra, MITA and sample of lemon chill. When I took half the crop to make my lemon-lime cryogen version I also added a teaspoon of menthol crystals to amp it up like the regular soap.

    Thor's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Bay Rum soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (9, 10)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails AS splash
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

Voice is 80% back today, so I may be at my normal by the weekend. After a couple of good weeks of success with the Stirling, it puzzled me again today; I loaded it half again as much, as I find it requires (60 swirls rather than 40), I bowl-lathered it rather than face-lathered, yet the lather still was thinning by the second pass. It's frustrating, given how many other folks seem to get such copious, stable lather from the stuff. Ah, well. More for them when I go to reorder. Two passes only, due to some 'medicine head' fogginess, with minor touchups and DFS+ results free of nicks or weepers.

Another surprisingly great shave with the Berkeley.
Also rather like the Arko cologne/aftershave.
