The shaving stars aligned today for me and I experienced arguably the best shave I've ever had. The Astra blade in the '11 model is a really nice match. Smooth and irritation free. A really nice way to begin what looks to be a reasonably pleasant day here in the Northeast.

Nice shave this morning these No.14's just seem to shave (Friodur and other makers too) well. This brush will be having major surgery soon, either before the barbershop this morning or after. Have a good one.

L'Occitane Cade was used for my lather today and it performed well. 3 passes and very smooth with no irritation.

    Prep: Hot shower
    Razor: Gillette Old Type
    Blade: Voskhod
    Brush: Omega 80080 Boar Brush
    Soap: Maggard London Barbershop
Post: Cold rinse, Alum, Styptic Pencil, Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive ASB

3 pass shave with pretty good results.

I am a OC newbie. Got some well deserved nicks, cuts, and some slight irritation.

It wasn't as bad of an experience as I thought it would be. I will have to do a 30 day focus on this razor in June.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Rituals Samurai Bamboo and Wakame foaming face wash,
The bluebeards revenge Pre shave oil

Soap/cream- Mystery shaving soap sample (From @RaZorBurn123)

    Brush- Plisson Synthetic

    Razor- Merkur 37 C

    Blade- Astra SP(2)

Post- Cold water rinse, Homemade aftershave lotion, Aqua velva ice blue aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

I have had this sample for a long time, but I never got around to try it until now. But today was the day hahaha. I have no idea what soap it is guys but I did get a very nice lather out of it =) Kerry, do you have any idea at all?

2 pass shave and some touch up. Finished with Aqua velva, darn it smells so nice! love this aftershave. Added some of my own homemade aftershave to prolong the chill a little bit =)

The merkur does a great job! I think I have found a nice way to get a closer shave on my neck =)

image.jpg Razor: Dubl Duck Special #1 5/8 Squire point 1947-52
    Merkur 34c HD 2014
    Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: Geo. F. Trumper's Coconut cream
    Blade: Feather (4)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton AS

Ok, back to the Dubl Duck Special #1. This Duck is smaller, (from honing?) than my Goldedge which is 5/8, and even with its spike point, which is a little rounded off, let's me get under my upper lip a little easier. I'm still working on angles and this smaller blade helps. Getting better and a little closer doing most of my face using both hands and adjusting my angles. finished with my Merkur and only needed 1/2 pass. So my stropping technique is good, which makes me glad, as I didn't hurt the edge. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some Old Spice original Shulton AS. Great shave!

Feather and R41 are a match made in heaven, smooth, sharp and extremely efficient. 2 passes into limey goodness of Pinaud Citrus Musk. My first Pinaud aftershave and I'm thoroughly impressed by its performance and classic scent.
