Sunday morning will be back to the freezing fun:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Derby day 2
Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

There's just no way I can stay away from my menthol for more than one day - in fact, this morning I felt like something was missing. Anyway, the Glacial Obsidian soap has been reformulated and it lathers so easily with the same awesome anise scent which I love so much. The menthol effect, which was very powerful last time feels even stronger now and the skincare is so terrific. The Gold Bond acts like such a wonderful aftershave balm with its nice cooling and soothing effect. The Penguin is indeed like "an air conditioner in a bottle." I still have a few Dorco blades left, but it'll be a long time before I use them again - the Derbys are so much better. ;) :D

PRESHAVE: Face wash with soap and warm/hot water
RAZOR: Wolfman WR1-DC (dual comb) with MR1 handle
    BLADE: Astra SP (new)
    SOAP: Catie's Bubbles Fouet L'Orange
    BOWL: Captain's Choice Large
    BRUSH: Tweezerman
POST: Rinse with warm/hot water to get soap off and then some cold water rinses/splashes and pat try. Apply Gentleman Jon Alum block and rinse/wash off after a minute or two!

First time with the Wolfman, the soap and the bowl! All great!!

Comments: Shave was awesome! I got a DFS in two passes with almost a BBS everywhere with the third pass (mainly cleanup) except just a small spot on the neck! I could have stopped at two passes and just did a bit of touch up in the usual rough areas for a DFS but did the third pass to see if it cleaned up the rest and it did with just a very slight area not BBS. I used the open comb side first pass then the standard bar side the other two. They both are very efficient and I would say very close in aggressiveness. Both sides are what I would call fairly aggressive. Soap was great also. I loaded the brush and transferred it to the Captain's choice bowl and man did it lather like no buddy's business! I had easily enough lather for the three passes. I was going to stop at two for a DFS but decided to use what I have left for pass three and a bit of touchup and still rinsed a bit down the drain! The lather was very protective and slick throughout the shave and the post shave feel was good. No issues with the scent at all as it wasn't that strong. Great soap! One weeper right at the start by the corner of my mouth from getting cocky and forgetting I was using something new! Also had just a bit of irritation in neck area/jawline based on the alum block. Overall an AWESOME shave today!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.

    Sundays Planned SOTD

    Razor: 1946/1947 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Triton R3 (D8)
Brush: Rooney Heritage Beehive 2 Super Badger
    Bowl: ShaveWorks 4.25" Shave Bowl
    Pre Shave Scrub: RazoRock GLO
Pre Shave Oil: Homemade Bay Rum w Lime
Shave Cream: Al’s Calypso (Bay Rum)
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Al’s Calypso (Bay Rum)

This makes day seven of cycling through my Bay Rum soaps and have four soaps to go to round out my stock. If I had to stick to one aroma of shave soap it definitely would be Bay Rum and though I really like all that I have on hand if I had to chose just one for overall shave quality and aroma it would be Tiki Soaps Bay Rum with Lime. Today's Bay Rum is a custom from Al's Shaving and all I had Al do to his Calypso was add some menthol and I used it eight times before deciding to add some Lime Essential oil to his custom blend as I wanted another BR with Lime in my shaving arsenal. Have a great Sunday everyone.

That head sounds interesting, I'm glad it worked out for you.

That CT soap.. A lot of you have it, seems like a must have. How is the smell?

It performed decent but nothing to write home about. It was lacking in lather longevity and constitution (too airy) and the post shave was almost nonexistent. The shave was still good but not up to my current standards

It's nice of you to buy it and try it out. It's a tough business, a lot of companies out there which have established their market

I'm always interested in trying out soaps, you can always run into a real jewel like I did with Vreto soaps which are now my staple

    Prep: warm wash
Lather: TSD Wheat Lemon & Cedarwood
    Brush: Omega 6214 silvertip
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Rapira Lux
    Post: Ogallala Bay Rum

18th shave in a row using Rapira Platinum Lux (not the same blade). They are not the longest lasting, but always provide at least 3 face shaves or 2 head shaves. Also this is the 14th in my badger brush focus. I do believe there is something about using the same gear day after day that allows me to pinpoint any issues with a single component.

Oh yeah, we have a new visiting mephitis mephitis enjoying the cat food bowl. Updates later when the sun comes up.

My goodness, what a shave I had. The new Derby (well, it's the 2nd day) got me BBS again and the Glacial Obsidian soap laid a super-mega freeze on me. The Gold Bond/Penguin combo continued that coldness beautifully. :D

Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Shield Face Wash
Razor: iKon Shavecraft 101 w/wave handle
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Omega 10066
    Lather: Tabac
    Post: Alum. Thayers Cucumber WH.
    Aftershave: Country Club Southern Oud
I woke up really early to shave with my new Tabac. I love the glass milk jar that the puck comes in, also has a very nice sealing lid. The puck is very hard, for some reason I thought Tabac was softer. The Omega 10066 has plenty of backbone to whip up a mountain of lather, very slick and cushion-y. The iKon SC101 is a quality razor! CC Southern Oud finished off the shave. I'll be participating in Tabac Tuesday's!
A better tomorrow. Takes your best today!

Saturday was to have been an off day but ended up going out to dinner, so SOTD was hurried but excellent.............

Soap: RazoRock XXX w/Omega 6151 Pure (face lather)
    Razor: 40's Super Speed w/new Gillette 7 o'clock Black
    2-passes (WTG & XTG) & a little touch-up
Rinse: Witch Hazel followed by Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Aftershave: Fine American Blend

The 7'clock black gave me a fantastic DFS (near BBS) shave with the 40's SS!
