It just arrived!

After over forty years of shaving (though I sported a full beard for most of that time) it's time for my first single-blade DE shave!

My Vintage Razor Starter Kit just arrived from Garry's Sample Shop. It has everything I need to get started. I thought I would post it for fellow newbies that are looking for gear to get started with cheaply or for those guest newbies who are checking out this site. (join the group, it’s worth it!)

Anyway, I’ll assume that the blades Garry shipped (Astra Stainless, Shark Super Stainless) are appropriate for the technique of a newbie. (or lack thereof!)

I also have gotten my hands on other blades listed below. If any of the Shave Den’s braintrust thinks there’s a more appropriate blade among this group, please let me know.

Those should serve you well just starting off. I'd look getting some other soap/cream

just ordered some stirling soaps...these will be my 1st SSC soaps....got exec.man, vanilla sandalwood, and ben franklin...guess we will see how it goes
