SAS/DFS Single pass with a couple of touch ups. Gem Feather Weight, GEM ptfe blade. Took longer to create my lather in the scuttle than have the shave. Won't do it every shave but I'm surprised how effective an SE razor is on a single pass shave. Cold water after the shave.
5/14/15 - The Pushbutton! Decided to join the Party here. I've been trying out different SE Razors and today was this GEM. Very smooth and great grip. I'm still partial to the old 1912 and 1914, but this is a great razor loaded with a PTFE.
Yup, that little unassuming razor will sneak up on you and deliver the BBS shave, with little effort. One of my favorite injector razors!, and the one I used on my Wedding Day, to make sure I looked presentable.
It does deliver! I figure it's going to become the razor I grab when I don't have time and need the BBS. Fabulous.
I received a great package yesterday from a fellow forum member @maltedmilk containing GEM SE's and a Schick injector. It took about 15 days to get to Australia. This was a gifted package. The box contained - A 1912, a MMOC and a beatiful almost mint 1924. The Schick is a type L. He also included an unopened Injector cartridge and 10 GEM ptfe blades. How generous is that !! I used the 1924 yesterday and it has ruined me for any other razor. Smooth, sharp and very close. Such a wonderfully designed razor, it could easily be my goto razor for every day. The comb on this 1924 is not the round version and is apparently more aggressive. It certainly didn't seem in any manner aggressive. Thanks Sean. Steve
Yep....I love the ER1924....I have a very soft spot for mine... BTW....FeeltheBurn gave my a GEM Feather Weight a while back....Talk about unassuming...although it was Mickey Mantle's favorite. It's still the epitome of unassuming....But that rascal really has a sneaky way of giving a really great irritation free shave....After getting such nice shaves, now I really dig how it looks...@FeeltheBurn thanks man...I had told you I was probably going to Pif it, But!...Nope....Now I think everyone should have atleast one....}8^))
Thanks Steve. Once I got different blades the shave went much better (read above). It wasn't my best shave, but that's probably the learning curve you mention. At the very least I have a new razor in rotation.
5/22/15 - GEM Featherweight. Good razor. A little light for me. It would take a few shaves to get used to the handle size. A good smooth, mild SE Razor.
I had a fantastic shave this morning. I really like the GEM Razors. The 1912 from you is up for Monday morning's shave.
