So I've decided to throw away my dollar shave club razor and go back to my double edge safety razor. And throw away my pump shaving cream and go back using my Geo Trumper Spanish leather shaving cream... Taking it back to the ways of our grandfathers.

What do you guys prefer? Multi razor VS. safety and DE razors

Well I've invested so much money into a hobby that I absolutely love, I'll never ever use a cartridge razor again.

You're asking the wrong crowd. If you've read even a dozen posts you know the majority here are safety razor, soap/cream and brush users.

well i often feel and say, "i feel like i was born 50-60 years late" and this is another reason for it....shaving (or common shaving today)is yet another thing that has somehow gotten WORSE in recent years......havent taken the plunge into straight razors yet (though i feel that one is knocking on the door for me) but DE is where its at.....funny thing is, ever since ive been converted and i talk to others about it, they are ALWAYS very very interested....if you havent tried it out, give it a shot...and welcome to the den

Definitely DE. It's how I first started shaving when I was 13 and the few times I've tried cartridge razors.....ugh, just does not work for me. Plus, I defy you to find an aerosol foam that smells as good as Stirling shave soaps. It just cant be done I say!!!! lol
I would like to get back into using a straight too though, as soon as I can get another one. I hope it's like riding a bike. You know, the once you've learned it's easy after a long time away from it. Not the part where you wind up frustrated and covered in bandaids........;)

I prefer using a safety razor rather than a multiblade cartridge system. It is not that all cartridge razors give bad shaves, it is just that the safety razor gives me closer, more comfortable shaves. My take is that razor selection should be based on performance and price. A safety razor and double edge blades win on both counts. Would I switch back to a multiblade cartridge razor? In a heartbeat, but only if it gave better shaves than a safety razor and the cartridges were reasonably priced. Until hell freezes over, I will stick with the safety razor.
