This has probably been asked here, but a search didn't turn it up. I shave both my nugget and my mug every day, so my blade is being used probably more than twice as much as a blade used only to shave one's mug. I've been changing the blades about every three days... I probably could use a blade all week if I were only shaving my mug. Seems like the blade starts to get a little duller past three days. So, for you guys shaving your nugget and your mug every day, how often do you change your blade?
Try to make it for seven days. If I don't make 7 days I don't use that blade again. I don't have a heavy beard and I shave every day.
yea I would imagine that you would run thru a blade much faster with head and face shaving. I usually go about 3-5 shaves on my face. if I were you I would experiment and see how long a blade lasts. there are way too many factors to get a solid number. everyone is different and blades are different.
Just shave my face as I still have a full head of hair. Thanks to the Marine Corps my hair was very short during the 60's.
I have heard of people getting crazy number of shaves like 60 from a blade. there are so many factors. I tried to go as long as I could and shave number 6 burned my face so bad that I have stayed around 5. I will have to experiment with the longevity of different brands of blades.
With the price of DE blades 5 blades for 5 weeks is good with me. The new multi blade packs are far more expensive. IMHO.
I try to shave from 5 to 7 times with a blade. I do not shave my nugget. @Douglas Carey Thanks to the Marine Corps I have always wore my hair some what short. (also thanks to my Dad he was a 30yr.man)
I go for 7 shaves and then change unless I get a bad blade. I do two passes. Back in the day when I tried for more, my record was 19 shaves on a Shark Super Chrome. I got bored and changed the blade.
When I shave my face and head the blade is binned. I use a blade for two shaves. Comfort over frugal.
3-6 face shaves per blade. 2 or 3 for head shaves. I know at the end of a shave if the blade has another left. You will too.
