Just saw one on e bay starting at $495. That price is just a tiny bit high for me. Nice brush though.
I looked up my ebay purchase of this brush in 2014 and then I paid $86 for mine. That sounds a lot more reasonable.
Not what I'm waiting on to arrive, but what I picked up at a flea market while camping this weekend. Think I need to engage Glen to restore these straights but all this for 30 bucks. Score!
I can wholeheartedly recommend Glen @gssixgun - he put some magic edge on my Thiers-Issard that now cuts throw stubble like there is no tomorrow.
I normally stay away from razors that are too much of a restoration project but...there was just something about this Clauss-Fremont that called to me It's a rather unique design in that the razor head opens and closes by twisting the handle. Now, the seller says she doesn't know how it works and managed to open it...then she couldn't get it to close..then she closed it and couldn't get it to open...so, there may be some issues but we'll see. You don't see them too terribly often and this, as far as I can tell, the 'automatic' model from around 1905-1910. Waits has this to say: The razor:
More incoming! Took advantage of a couple big sales I saw going on this weekend and pulled the trigger on: - A Standard razor, raw aluminum color. They're 30% off at the moment with free shipping, so I grabbed one just to have a backup in case I ever lose or break my black Standard. - A Rooney Style 1/Size 2 Super Silvertip. Vintage Blades has all their Rooney brushes on clearance, 40% off. This was really an impulse buy. - And I ordered another Bufflehead soap, a woody scent called Mannish Boy. That one wasn't on sale, just have really been digging the one I have of their and wanted to try another.
Napa Soap Black Fiber Brush. I'm slowly making my way to all synthetic brushes. For $18 I could not pass this deal up! @MoAllen
Silvertip badger knot. Last seen in Texas. '51 black tip SS, '58 red tip SS, '68 black handle SS. Scheduled for arrival Wednesday.
All I know is my knot was supposed to be here yesterday. Tracking says it was picked up in Arlington, TX, on the 22nd, left Coppell, TX, on the 25th, and is in transit. Olive Wood Handle seeks Silver Tip Badger for lifelong relationship.
I have a Cattaraugus Cutlery Green Lizzard on the way. The pictures weren't great, but the price was right. There doesn't appear to be much hone wear.
