    Brush Focus: Day 29/30
    Brush: Fendrihan, Silvertip, Black Handle-22/49.
Gillette - Black Flare Tip, SS, P-1 (1970).
    Feather, Hi Stainless, Platinum (1)
    Soap: Razo-Rock, Don Donato.
    A/S: Lucky Tiger.
    Old Spice Coffee Mug.(soak brush)
This is also an outstanding brush not floppy at all and it loads lather like it is going out of business. Tip are soft as a babies hid side. I'm sure the Razo Rock, Don Donato helps with the lather. It is a very good soap. I'm very happy to be back to the Feather Platinum blade, 3 pass shave tonight. Probably one of the best, if not the best shaves I have ever had. Spent a moment to long looking at A/S so out came Luck Tiger. Great product. I'm going to use the Whipped Dog Silvertip tomorrow just to make sure I'm judging it fairly. I've used 2 Silvertips in the last 2 day so it will be treated fairly. I have been extremely happy with the knots I've purchased from Whipped Dog and I hope this brush performs better tomorrow.

The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silvertip Badgerbrush. Two passes with my Schick L-1 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barbasol Brisk after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

Since I have a Palmolive Menthol cream and another bottle of the Rubby Dubby Doo on the way here I thought I'd give them a spin for my upcoming shave. That cream's one of my top favourites - that scent is dynamite, the lather is such a pleasure to work up, and the menthol power from it really hits you. It also has the great skincare which is so typical of the European Palmolive creams. The Gold Bond is also darned chilly, and it's unscented so it never competes with any fragrance. My present bottle of the Rubby Dubby Doo is down to just enough to give me a couple of good splashes, so the new one sure comes at a good time! ;) :D

    3 DAYS!!!! :signs131:

You should pack a dopp kit for wet shaving in the woods! It's actually very relaxing and fun. Little known fact: The image of the mountain man as a Grizzly Adams-esque figure with a great shaggy beard and long unkempt hair is largely a myth! Most mountain men were at least fairly clean shaven and well groomed even when out it the bush; as good hygeine was considered very important in keeping good health and not winding up dirty and flea ridden or with some sickness or infection. It also boosts ones morale as it simply make you feel that much better. A straight razor (which doubled as a patch knife), was considered an essential part of ones kit when heading out to trap, forage, etc. Lol, sorry, "fun" fact for the day I guess.

Have a great trip and God bless! :happy088:

    My Friday SotD

Pre: Hot shower with Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood bath soap
    Razor: WSC Jet Black razor
    Blade: Astra SS (1)
    Brush: Omega Pro 20102
    Soap: Mitchells Wool Fat
Post: Dickinsons Witch Hazel and cold water splash
AS: Lucky Tiger After Shave and Face Tonic & Sterling: Executive Man balm
    Fragrance: Old Spice Classic

Well, my shave tonight could have gone better. It was my first time using the Astra SS and MWF. It started out very well. I used some tips from videos by Mantic and NickShaves to get a good lather up with the MWF using the Omega Pro 20102. The brush is also new to me, but I've been using it for a week and it's a real champ! It loads up a ton and produces MASSIVE amounts of lather with little effort. I love the large size too. I've nicknamed it "Hogzilla", lol. Anywho, the lather I got seemed pretty good. Not great, but well and acceptable for shaving with; very thick and slick, though I think I do need to practice with the MWF some more to get it perfect. The MWF seems to produce a lather that is less......"yogurty" and more "fluffy". I hope those terms fit right, lol. However, at the end of my shave (3 passes: WTG, XTG, ATG), same as always; I felt MASSIVE irritation just rinsing my face. And when I hit it with witch hazel, can you say razor burn!? I'm not certain if it is the blade, or the lather that was the problem though. For the sake of the scientific method, I'm going to try the Astra with my go to favorite Stirling next shave to see what the results are. I will also likewise use the MWF with my go to Crown blades and compare those results. All in all, I kind of hope it's the blades as I'd rather write them off than the MWF. We'll see what happens though.
Hope everyone has a great weekend of great shaves! God bless all.

It's hell to get old isn't it. Today 29May15 was the first time I shaved it maybe ten days. I can't believe it my hands didn't go numb until after I was done shaving. Used my most charades brush today. A funny looking little thing with a Black & White handle, here's hoping your shoulder get well fast. Great looking, straight razor by the way.
