Wonderful shave. I really like this Tabac soap, the Omega 10066 seems to be the perfect brush for this soap/jar. iKon SC101 is such a quality razor at a very affordable price. Shady Past is awesome.

It's been a while since I used Lavanille, and I'm reminded how much I love it. The scent is almost intoxicating and the lather is hard to beat. The Colonel made yogurt quickly and the FatBoy easily handled my stubble. I used the same 9-7-7 as yesterday with similar results. Cologne Russe stung a little more than I expected, but it's all good now.
Prep: Shea Moisture Scrub, Mickey Lee Lime
    Soap: B&M Lavanille
    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: Gillette FatBoy
    Blade: Voskhod
    AS: B&M Cologne Russe

    Homemade PS Oil
    Vie-long Horsehair Brush
    Latha SS
    '48 Gillette Milord
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Latha Post Shave

A second day using cold water shave, and it seems to be really working well. Still a but odd feeling the cold razor on my skin, but u am getting good shaves and less irritation. The Latha was great providing good protection and slickness. It was a good start to the day.

I'm in the process of putting some new scales on this one (kinda ATOR style). I'll pin it and polish it when I get the chance. Nice shave today, have a good one. BTW, sounds like my shoulder is toast so I'm going to be limited as to what I can do for awhile.

Hmmm. Is this a new Standard or New Improved? Or are they the same thing?

Did a little looking up on this. The New Standard is a New Improved. Gillette printed it on the inside of some of the cases. Don't have the case. But by the looks, this razor is in the class of the New Improved.

I am still using the sample of LASS Woody Lavender. A small (I think 2 oz.) sample has lasted me 6 shave so far (3 this week and 3 previously) and I still have at least one shave left. As you get the water/soap ratio closer to optimum, this soap really shines. But, the tolerance between a good and a poor ratio is very small. 3 passes and BBS for me today.
