I would recommend that you try shaving after a shower, it'll hydrate your whiskers/face. You'll see much better results. IMO.

  4. Ahh, thank you, and that way of adding photos makes no sense, why isn't there a way to just add photos from your computer like on the SRP forum?

    Omega Pro 98 boar brush
    D.R. Harris Almond Shave Cream
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Nivea Sensitive Post-Shave balm

I had my last shave for awhile with my Weber PH. I'm moving on to an R41 (2013) for the first time beginning tomorrow. I had a really good shave this morning, although I have some redness and irritation from letting the lather sit on my face too long. It has mostly calmed down, so I'll chalk that up as a learning experience.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Remembering those that served, and the greatest battle ever fought. My dad was 101st Airborne and dropped in from time to time all over Europe in WWII. He dropped in a day early behind the lines in Normandy, he was always a little impatient. Thinking of him on days like today I remember watching him with fascination as he went through his daily ritual. So in his memory I used what he would have used back then, as much as I could. He loved grapefruit. Good shave. Thanks Dad!

    Reef Point does it again!
I used the generous sample of RP Sublime today. It was given to me by Eric Hardesty when we met at the Maggard event a few weeks ago. I've got to say this soap is excellent. The scent is very pleasing and the right strength. I lathered it in a bowl I made when I was a kid in grade school. It whipped up easy. The Fatboy easily dispatched my stubble in a 9/7/7 progression. I finished up with Krampert's bay run because I used up the CC Iime. I found out that the pre shave butter also works nicely as a beard oil for my short circle beard.

Glad to see you like the shave soap. So what did you think of the aroma? 1920 has turned out to be my favorite Barber Shoppe scent so far.

Clint, how do you like the Triad Helix? I'm still waiting on mine. I went with a 19mm x 95mm aluminum this time as I have a 15m x 100mm brass from Toby.

I dared to try a vintage blade today. And it was bad. Really bad. It just kept tugging and not cutting. I couldn't finish the first pass I had to see swap out the blade for a Sputnik for a nice smooth shave.

It blows everything else I have in the barber shoppe category away! Powdery, musky, old school, this soap whips up like a dream. Thanks for the review!
