A Pizza for dinner at the End of the School year Dinner for the School where "She Who Must be Obeyed" works at and keeps me in the manner I am accustomed to. I will not say what I got her for our Anniversary or her Birthday because she reads my e-mail before I see it.

Went to a local church thrift store. Five polo-type shirts, a pair of Columbia khakis, and a nice charcoal gray suit that could have been tailored for me, for our trip to Hilton Head in a few weeks. And a nice big Guinness pub glass. All for $19 and change.

Because I don't have enough radios, a Sony old school transistor radio. I have a lot of portable radios, but this one works great and cost about 1/10 of the others, so I don't care so much if it fall on the sidewalk :)

A Taurus P-738 TCP .380. The first pistol I've bought in about 17 years.

Adventure Medical Kit small first aid kit to take riding. Adventure Medical Kits sells a lot of great first aid and emergency medical kits. Before them I generally made my own, but these are pretty much put together like I would.

I'm a fan of GHS Boomers myself for both my bass and guitars. Last 10pk di adario I bought was XL .09. The strings kept coming unwound at the keeper. Are the EXPs any good?

I've used GHS On my electric, but not on my acoustic. About 10 years ago I was big into Elixers, but they don't last and just don't have a Blues or Rock sound when I play that style. The EXP's are more of a rounded sting in my Taylor and last longer. It does have the brassy sound if you don't tweek your amp.

They're at the low end. They have a little different twang. I like them. But I don't play acoustic guitar much.

I'll have to try them. Acoustic is all I play. Don't do the band thing anymore. Solo. A lot less headache. :)

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In '87, Huey released Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

Great Comment. Sports was the first album I got by them and have been liking them ever since. Fore, which does have some great songs on it, has a couple of my favs... Stuck With You and Doing it all For my Baby.

Each month I'm getting some of the artist I grew up with that only have on cassette or record.
    Last month was Paul Simon.
Next month I'm getting some Van Halen.
