Today's shave did not work out well. I am unsure what I did, but I know I did something wrong. Mixing AOS Sandalwood & Proraso Sandalwood usually makes an excellent lather. Today it was weak and only made a very thin lather. I took 2 passes and ended up with a shave that looks decent, but I know it is not. No irritation, but definitely not a great shave.

West Coast Shaving has it for $20 a jar, that's the cheapest I've seen. I highly recommend getting it, slick, great cushion, very easy to lather, the scent is great!

Edit: it's West Coast Shaving that sells the jars of Tabac for $20.

My SI blade is definitely dulling. It is harder to achieve that BBS shave but is still doable. I'm still not getting any irritation on my face but am having to use pressure to get it smooth. Today, I have a 2 small patches that I didn't get smooth. Friday and Saturday night I got BBS on my face. I've also used this blade to shave my arms twice and my chest, plus numerous face shaves. I can't complain with the performance of the SI blades in my R-89.

BTW, if any of you order and sample aftershaves from Captain's Choice, use caution when pouring the A/S!! I poured almost all of my Cat O' Nine Tails out into my hand. It was dripping fast, so I just doused myself in it and have enjoyed all of the goodness it offers. :) I do enjoy an A/S burn and the CO9T surely delivers. I'd say it is no worse than the burn of Stetson Original.

Soap: Captain's Choice Bay Rum (just got it in yesterday)

Razor: R-89; SI blade (I've lost count on number of shaves but it has seen its better days)

Post: Captain's Choice Cat O' Nine Tails

    Cologne: Dolce Gabbana
