I placed my name on the Mongoose waiting list. I have a puck and aftershave of Provence Sante Green Tea.
$28 later and I'm the proud-soon-to-be owner of my first French Le Coq SE hoe razor It looks in pretty good condition and happy to add it to my other Frenchies.
Hard to say. I received this on 5/22: "We have been delivering razors and working through the backlog. While it's impossible to accurately predict, we are up to the middle of February (the join date) and turning orders around as fast as possible." I'm not sure if one can completely extrapolate a timeline from that but, maybe, roughly, three months?
I saw a post from someone indicating they were notifying those on the list in early March. They seem to be working through the list fairly quickly since production resumed in early May. I hope when they have the backlog caught up, that the OC baseplate will become available.
I decided to jump on the 'The Sky is Falling'-bandwagon and ordered myself some GEM blades - just in case. 'Funny' thing with ordering online is that other things have a tendency of finding their way into the shopping cart as well.. I ordered from Connaught and was once again reminded of how really good their prices are, in the end my order ended up being; 1) A tray of 100 GEM SE SS coated blades ($23) 2) An iColoniali Smoky-Mango Shaving soap that have gotten rave reviews. Comes in a terra cotta bowl. ($20) 3) A tube of Tabac Hair cream ($7.50) - Great price compared to what I would pay elsewhere 4) My very first jar or Tabac Shaving Cream in bowl ($19) - also way less than what I've seen in other places i Coloniali Mango soap (apparently a very 'smoky' mango with a tad of menthol in it. Reviews I've read are loving it.
