today's shave was nice. seems I'm on a roll with exceptional shaves. three passes with the birth year slim. finished with Crusella tobacco.

And this is about as Menthol as it goes for me - so far. Haven't ventured into QCS Vostok or Stirling's glacial versions. Yet.

I have had a fat boy for about 2 years now. I don't use it regularly because I get a much better shave with my slim. In fact, until today, I have never gotten a great shave from my fat boy. But, today's shave was excellent. 3 passes and as smooth as I can hope for.

Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower

Soap/cream- Mitchells wool fat and Taylor of old bond street Sandalwood

Brush- Turkish No6

Razor- Merkur 37c

Blade- Wilkinson sword

Post- Cold water rinse, Lucky tiger Bay rum aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

This was a nice shave, but by the start of the shave it seemed like it was going to be a bad shave. It was a very long time ago I tried Wilkinson sword blades, I remember getting okey shaves with it. I had a few days of growth so it was a little tuggy at first, but the second pass was much better.

My skin is a little bumpy, not from the shave. I have gotten a small outbreak of zits, they are going away but I still have red spots.

The mix of MWF and TOBS was nice! smelled nice and slick. The brush is a little scratchy but I’m breaking it in and it will get better!

Not sure I like the Col. Conk. Smells nice and got good, slick lather by adding lots of water, but it seemed to dry on the brush kinda fast and doesn't seem as protective as tallow soaps.

 

Thanks for the listing of the iKon aggressive chart. I emailed Greg the day they were announced asking this very question as I have the SB and like it the best of his razors and he never responded. Nor did I get a reply on one of the forums. Also I put in my cart then removed the Shambala aftershave. What is your take regarding the aroma, as it sounds pretty good to me.

Greg's customer service skills are the pits. But his razors are pretty darn good. Shambala is fantastic, Citrus, grapefruit, it's still going strong 5-6 hours after applying. It has just a touch of menthol, not overwhelming, it's way in the background. I have all five of F&C offerings and Shambala is right at the top.

Edit: I had the 5pc DLC I'd say this razor is very similar to the standard base in aggressiveness.

 

TUESDAY
Final day using this razor. As I continue working my way through my straight razor inventory, its becoming clear which have quickly becoming my favorites and will remain part of my den. THIS razor will remain.
Near-BBS results after a 3-pass shave. Smoooooth!
