Hi guys, I'm brand new to the DE world. Only been here for a short while. I've seen a lot of these jagen david e01 & e02 on eBay. Anybody have any idea if they are any good? I'm currently using a Wilkinson sword classic and feather popular tto with a blade sampler pack. Any info would be greatly received.

I haven't tried them but I have a razor I got at Sally's beauty supply that looks very similar.

They are rebranded Ri,Mei razors from the looks of them. A shinier but not necessarily better finish. I would suggest moving on from them if they are.

Yep, looks like a rebranded RiMei to me, too.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll give them a miss. I didn't want to buy something that will fall apart on the first use

It won't do that, I've had one. But there's much better new and vintage out there that will please you more if you buy them.

Saw one of these at Sally yesterday for 11.99, and they'll throw in a free pack of Derby's. That was the real deal killer. :D

Yeah, these aren't going to fall apart. They're just going to be unreliable, possibly highly aggressive, and made poorly. You can still shave with it though. I'd rather spend the $1.83 on an Ri,Mei instead of $25 on a rebranded Ri,Mei. :D

Or perhaps spend $2 more on an Edwin Jagger DE89, by many accounts and my own experience an excellent razor.

Deltajulietkilo, the DE89 with a knurled handle is only $27 on Fruugo. Googling on Edwin Jagger DE89 will bring up many other options, with plenty in the $35 range. The EJ razors are beautifully made, great shavers and will last a lifetime. Really good for beginners and also as a daily shaver forever after, if one so chooses. Saving money is always tempting, but it is always better to spend a little more to get good quality than to 'save once, pay twice'.

For blade sampler packs, Try A Blade has a huge variety of blades that can be ordered individually. You can select the blades you want and order two or three or however many you want of each type. That can come in handy if you want to try more blades once your current sampler pack runs out.

One additional resource that might prove useful is Leisureguy's Guide to Gourmet Shaving, 7th ed. This book is packed full of information, and makes a fine complement to The Shave Den forum.
