  3. @david of central florida Well it's done with the knot set. I am very happy with the way this one turned out. To be honest when I first cleaned it and started I was not at all sure I could get any where close to the way it's turned out. I hope you enjoy the brush for years to come. I look forward to seeing it in your SOTD photos.

  5. my 400 is home from the beauty salon.
    WOW
I've taken several pictures, unfortunately, none of them do justice to the beautiful work of art that @clint64 has created from my very average looking old brush.
y'all will just have to see it in the sotd posts.
I'm almost embarrassed to use it.
I think that it looks better than it did brand new.
  6. Awwww comeee ooooonnnnn - post some photos!!! :)

  13. Nice! Inside looks nasty.

  14. They all do. That glue plug they used is nasty and stinks to high heaven when drilling it and cleaning it out. After it's the knot and all the plug is out, I take a variable speed dremel with a nylon bristle wheel and clean out the inside. You can never get it all out of the threads but that gets sealed up when the new knot is installed.
  15. I have to admit, I have had a couple in my time......

  19. In truth I've had about 10 or so but that was my maximum stockholding - I'm left with three now, a best badger, the black one (Spec Ops) and the blue one (Bluenose). But been reading the restoration tales on this group and it had me nodding with agreement. I hope you're all enjoying yours. Here's the poster I did for Spec-Ops a couple of years ago.

I've got a few more 'Rubberset Porn' photos including a full breakdown of how I did them - I don't want to spam the thread out though - let me know if they would be OK to post.
