SOTD, Friday 19 June. (Hey, it's Garfield's birthday, it just dawned on me!)

[I wonder if I might be "swearing in church" now, but hey, I can't have been the only one having done this:]
Having sampled a few "woody" soaps and tried them individually for a couple of shaves, I mashed them all into one container. Gives me quite a good shave, and the scent is just up my alley. Believe it is a mix of Mike's and Queen Charlotte's Vetivers, QCS Celestial Woods and Mystic [Edit: River] Water Poggio dei Pini. I have met people who found that food was to be mixed in the mouth and belly anyway, so one could combine in every way the strangest edibles, and I certainly don't agree. But when things indeed go well together... (They're all good on their own as well, though, and I'll probably come back for the full products.)

Sweet BBS after two passes with a slanty German armed with Japanese sharpness.

Wish you all a good Friday!

I think I need a space heater after this shave with the Glacial Spearmint soap. The Penguin ain't exactly warm either, trust me. BBS with no effort, thanks to my Super Speed/Derby combination.

    Lather – Lo Haiku

Another fantastic work morning shave with 2 passes plus touch ups giving a near BBS. The soap for today was Lo Haiku that I received as a gift from @Darkbulb . Thanks so much for the soap. It is a very easy to use with the lather just exploding and is super slick. The scent has a cologne quality to it with a background of floral. I look forward to making this soap part of my rotation. Finished off with a splash of Myrsol Formula C. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Dud blade
This shave was not so great. I think this Voskhod is a dud. It would also explain yesterday's less than stellar outing. The Colonel made excellent lather from MLB, but I felt tugging and some irritation during the first pass. I dialed down to seven for the second and final pass. I lathered up for a third just to treat my face to the lather, then rinsed. The MLB aftershave is a very nice scent match for the soap, and I added just a bit of Proraso Green splash for menthol and it worked fine.
    Prep: Mickey Lee Lime

    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: '59 Fatboy 9/7
    Blade: Voskhod (2)

    fatboy Friday
hot water wash with nivea men's
    @Jayaruh #7/ whipped dog silvertip
    soap commander respect
    Gillette fatboy(d4)(7)
    Ladas(4)
    ICED atomized Florida water
today's shave was nice. New soap, respect, first impression was that it smelled like "pinesol". had to sniff a few times for the lime to kick in. but the lime is there. three passes with the fatboy, plus a touch up, left me smooth and clean. I had to touch up to get the desired results. I'm sure this blade has been used up, and was the reason for more than my normal tthree passes. finished with iced, atomized Florida water. the end result was pretty nice, but I'd be in trouble if I didn't like pinesol.
hope y'all did as well, or better.

    Gibbs No15 razor
    Modified polsilver SI blade
    Vintage bristle and badger brush
    Homemade chilled + woodsy PSO
    Me' Garlerna shaving soap
    Mrysol Masaje Antesol aftershave
    Alt Innsbruck Cologne

The Me' soaps are absolutely suberb once the lathering technic is figured out (very little water and added a few drops at a time, while bowl lathering). This soap is making the creamest thick lather Ive ever made. The scents are very bold and complex. The Garlerna is descibed as "vetiver, sage, pine, eucalyptus, cedar, niaouli, Orange, lavender. and with natural tone of annatto" which is quite punjent in a woodsy/forrest way.
The Gibbs razor is one of my top performers. It might even be better than my Gillette adjustables. It's heavy and can be aggressive if asked.
Im still undecided if I like the Alt Innsbruck Cologne. It seems a bit girly scented for me some how?

Anyhow, Im out the door early so that I can head out camping fishing for the weekend at noon today.

Nice shave. I needed a break from the tech so I brought out the much more forgiving SC101. Tabac is a fantastic soap.
