I think I will back out of my commitment to NBJ. We are going to be doing some travelling over the coming weeks and I know there are antique stores along the way...best not to tempt fate. Best of luck to you guys who have taken the plunge...I will be on the sidelines watching the dialogue...and withdrawal symptoms.
while it is fun to partake of our self imposed spending hiatus as a group,I think you were prudent to withdraw. knowing you intent to pilfer the coffers of yesteryear, with the noble intent of putting some of that fine gear back into service. while it may not be as fun, the goals of nbj can be waiting for you on any given month. that is if you have the internal fortitude and the iron will to control your various and contagious acquisition disorders that are prevalent in our hobby. good luck and happy hunting.
only if we poke at the ones who scramble to get some purchases in to keep them from buying withdrawals during. I would think saying ahead of time, I'm not doing that. is way more acceptable than caving early or midway through. they will be the ones that should be prepared to face "witicule".
Well, that's a given. Those needs to be mocked and mocked hard I tell you! Unless, of course, the reasons for such scrambles are really cool and/or shiny razors.
I thought I was done, but had to get one last purchase in before NBJ starts. New Forest Brushes is going out of business and having a fire sale, so I bought a high mountain brush for $24.
"Accidentally" won a vintage bottle of Shulton Old Spice last night - but I beat the deadline! I'm still in!
This will be a piece of cake. No problem! Cake... Soap comes in cakes... Soap... I like soap! Cakes have frosting! I like frosting! Looks like shaving cream... Hmmm, shaving cream! No, no! Jerald, just brush those thoughts out of your mind! Brush... I like badger brushes! Soft, luxurious... I like brushes! Yup NBJ - this should be easy...
This is going to be interesting. Told my best friend about my participating in NBJ. You would have thought it was the best joke ever with the laugh it produced.
