So far, I am really enjoying this razor. I have had 2.5 shaves with it, as I used a straight yesterday and used the Phoenix to clean up. I will be doing a focus on this razor for July, but to me it shows great potential.

    Menthol Monday
warm shower with Dr. Woods Peppermint Oil soap/cold water shave....... Dr. Woods is a cheaper version of Dr. Bronners, still I don't see much of a difference.I also have been using Alaffia Authentic Black African Soap with Peppermint for my pre-prep,on the face and dome.Very good soap adds a lil slickness, the peppermint adds a slight coolness.

    MONDAY
    Quiet Day Off Shave…
Shaved with one of my very favorite razors—this large old Sheffield Wostenholm.
Throw in a little French soap, applied with a Chinese brush, and finished with a splash of British aftershave. Así international! :D
    Have a great Monday, all!

    6/29/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Muhle R101 (2011), H. Boker straight razor
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (2)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Bond #9 - Oud

It is Menthol Monday!! The #6 brush whipped up the Frozen Tundra into a thick lather. The R101 and the Boker did the job of knocking down the stubble with ease. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Oud was a fine finish to the Darn Fine Shave + this morning.

    Have a blessed day!

Bowl: Wife bought it for me in Montreal. $4.95
    A/S: TSD Coconut
    Day 29
Working with a new brush and shaving soap. This boar brush is working much better than the 1305 boar brush, for me, and it is new. As a result of being a new brush it did loose a few hairs tonight. Had a DFS tonight. TSD coconut A/S is a mighty fine A/S.

    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

Although the Frozen Tundra is less-mentholated as the Glacial soaps it's still not for the faint of heart, believe me. It packs a very potent and frigid wallop which can really wake you up and have you shivering. Its scent is so nice in a very unique way which I cannot describe. It also has such wonderful post-shave care. My Gold Bond is ready to do the job again, and the Rubby Dubby Doo is poised to keep the icicles in my face for the whole day. Damn, that Derby blade is nearing the end of the road but I'm sure it'll give me a great final shave. ;) :D
