Surprise from my wife's vacation garage sale excursion. She paid $15 bucks for all. I think the super speed is a '48-49 (may be the birth Razor I've been looking for) no date code. The reissue patent # on the open comb is 17567. Any help with ID for these 2? I'm a hat person and a couple hats that are pretty decent. Man I love that girl. May even rub her feet tonight.
Congratulations on the two razors. I am looking forward to seeing them cleaned up. The NEW appears to be a short comb from the 30s. The Super Speed is the first of the notched SSs. It is cool.
They're gonna get a good cleaning when I get back to S Florida. I'll probably send the SS to Razor Emporium. Maybe to get replated seeing it may be a birth razor. I can't seem to find the reissue patent # on their Gillette date code page for the open comb. Been wanting to try one. I'll post pics after cleaning.
Razor burn, you're really going to like it. It's going to be one of your favorite razors. Though it still looks pink.
Will do.. I didn't shave today so I'll use a known good shaver tomorrow, but will use the travel size one after that.
Did a fair bit of satisfying my newbie AD in late-June. Four packages arrived this week. I tried various A/S samples and ended up with Myrsol Limon and Blue, as well as a Proraso Green. A clever Easter Egg PIF (thanks @Bama Samurai) landed me a bottle of Florida Water and some Silver Blues. (It pays to wander aimlessly around TSD!) Found a cheap lot of razors - Standard Open Comb, Gillette New LC, GEM Pushbutton (anyone recommend some good blades for this?) Schick - Eversharp Injector. And a very nice Gillette (1930s?) New Long Comb with box. btw - all purchased in June as was one more bundle coming from TSD Shop.
