The scent and performance of Shannon's Coconut Lime is wonderful. A soap that is not often talked about, it's as good as any artisan I've tried.

Another great shave this morning. This is only the 3 or 4 time I have used MWF. I got a pretty good lather with it this morning. I am sure it will improve as I work with it. Finished off with Floid Vigoroso from my sample pack.

    FRIDAY
Second day trying out a new croap, this time applied with a synthetic brush. Easy to lather, goes on 'slick & thick'—and provides a very nice cushion for a straight razor shave. This morning's razor—a smooth-shaving, round-tip Solingen blade, gave an extra-smooth and noisy three-pass shave. Great start to a Friday!
    Have a great one, everybody!

    Fine Fatboy Ferox Friday
This was a really nice shave. The Colonel made thick slick lather from Ferox, one of my favorite scents. The Fatboy destroyed my stubble easily - maybe too easily on my neck where I did too much touch up, leaving a little tenderness. Fine Platinum is a nice scent compliment to Ferox, a pairing I enjoy, but I have not used in a while. I used a little Shea Moisture balm to salve my neck and everything is good.
    Prep Mickey Lee Lime
    Soap: B&M Ferox
    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: 1959 Gillette Fatboy
    Blade: Voskhod (4)
AS: Fine Platinum, Shea Moisture balm

Thanks! The Taconic Bay Rum soap along with the Lime and the Eucalyptus Mint have been solid performing soaps for me.

Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam
Razor - Gillette Ball End Tech
    Blade - Feather Hi-Stainless (#3)
    Brush - Omega 20106
    Soap - Arko Soap/ Ingrams / Glycerine
After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix
    Result - BBS++

Everybody needs a Tech in their life. If I needed to depend on a shave I'd pick a Tech and Feather combination every time, this was one of the best shaves I've ever had from a DE.
Weather is gorgeous, house all to myself, good beer, good day.

Happy 4th July to all you guys Stateside!

Mark I have somewhere around 70-80 soaps/creams in my den and this is ranks #1 overall in all categories except for price as this is some pretty expensive cream or soap. Haven't calculated cost per shave but I do feel I get my moneys worth.

Now on to the cream. First off they call it cream but it is hard, I can press my finger on it and it will not put a dent on it unlike the typical TOB's or T&H. Upon opening the lid, you are hit with what they call bitter almond but to me it smells sweet and I love the strong almond aroma. To me, this what almond should smell like and I do have P160 TD, both Cella's, Vito's, Valobra, RR P.160. DR Harris. I found that more than 10 seconds of swirl on the puck is enough for at least a three pass shave as seen below in the pic and to whip up the lather to the consistency seen below was one minute and ready to shave. This is super slick and if you are a straight razor type of guy I would probably pick this one as my go to shave cream or soap. Whips up fast, not heavy or airy, and did I say slick? The razor glides over your face like oil on concrete it is that slick. I only need two passes and being so slick I don't feel the need to rinse off between the two passes as my face felt smooth to the touch. There was enough lather for at least three maybe four passes and since I only needed two, SWMBO use the rest to shave her legs. I think this is the best on my shelf but my brother in law likes Panama 1924 better so that is on my wish list to try and it must be pretty good stuff as I asked him for a sliver to test it out and four months now he has not given in to providing me a sample. Do I recommend it, heck yah but the price will set you back. I bought mine before Christmas when they had a sale on their site and with shipping was the same cost as buying one tub from vendors here stateside.

I have the Taconic BR cream and one of the best in my opinion. The original cream has Bay Rum liquor in the ingredient list, does your tin of soap list the BR liquor?
