1949 isn't correct, this blade was actually made in 1974. That patent was filed in 1959 and pertains to adding a coating to the blade edge. The ones from 1949 would look like THIS

Also, if this is the one you showed a picture of in your other thread it's a Super Blue blade, not a Blue.

Probably 90% of the questions asked can be found by doing a bit of research at www.mr-razor.com

Achim has compiled an amazing amount of data there.

    Hello fellow Den Dwellers,
During my travels as a new DE shaver adventuring from one antique shop to the next I came across a 5 pack of Gillette blue blades. I tried taking pictures and uploading them but even on the lowest resolution it says file to big. I searched Mr. Razor and found one that matched, almost. The 1939 "j3" Made in England. The difference with mine is they say made in U.S.A. Are they the same year just made here, just not across the pond ? I am new to all things wet shaving, I started about a month ago. You could say I'm still wet behind the ears. Bad pun, I know. I couldn't pass it up tho.

I had the same issue with picture size. It' not a resolution issue, it's a width issue. Try cropping your photo.

I have another single blade that came in a boxed razor set I purchased. I will try and find it on mr. Razor. I will post pics also for your viewing enjoyment.

1949 was, in fact, the correct answer.

How about the "Sensor 2" disposable?
