I have three TGN Finest knots on brushes. I forgot about my travel brush..:) I love them all. None have ever shed a hair!

    30 Days with Maggard OC!

    image.jpg

Decided to switch up the blade test and include all the labels in the @Bobcat Maggard PIF box. Next up is ASCO super stainless! I was pleased with results, and had a good 2 pass shave per usual. So far I've tested Gillette 7O'Clock SS and SP, and now ASCO. Will use ASCO again tonight. The AS pictured is the house version of AV from the Kroger family if grocery stores. It is not exactly like AV, but a great value and one I use occasionally. Gonna go get ready for a Menthol Monday shave and will get caught up later, back after a long and fun weekend.

    Have a great Monday Evening!
    :)

Good shave this evening. This is a good combination for me. I like the Old Barber Shop smell of this soap.
    Have a good evening all.:happy088::happy088:

    Tuesday's
    ZCOLDWATER1.jpg

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Semogue 1800
    Gillette NEW SC
    Sputnik
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue 1800 Boar brush. Two passes with my Gillette NEW SC razor and a Sputnik blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Old Spice Cologne

Another hot day means I'll need another bone-chillingly cold shave with all the other nice amenities in order to keep comfortable. The Glacial Lavender soap is a bona fide face-freezer with perfect lather, a great scent, and awesome skincare. The Gold Bond moisturizer and the Penguin are so soothing and frigid. I hope the Derby blade gives me a final BBS shave before I change it. I recently received another hundred from a friend of mine. ;) :D

    Tomorrow's SOTD:
'63 Slim (set on 7, usually)
    Astra Superior Platinum (2)
    Simpsons Colonel
    Proraso Green cream
    Thayer's Rose
    Clubman Pinaud AS

Tomorrow is an early morning so I picked stuff out to have it prepared. Nothing better than a kick of menthol to wake a man up in the AM! I'm looking forward to using the Astra again to see how well it performs compared to today- I love stretching blades out as far as I can when using a new brand. Have a good night, all!

    July 7 Plans

    MdC facial soap
    G-3 Gillette Fat Boy
Feather blade (day 1, setting 3)
    Omega Pro 98 boar brush
    A.J. Murray's Lincoln shave soap
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

I had better success using the Omega Pro 98 with the A.J. Murray's shave soap today. I still needed to reload the brush a couple of times during the shave because the lather thinned out. Once I get the lather figured out, I'd like to start moving up the adjustment scale. Shaving with a FB on a 3 setting seems like driving a Mustang in 2nd gear...it just ain't right.

    Have a great Tuesday!

Kerry, thanks for the kind words on the FB! I'm curious to see how it will shave wide open, but I'm trying to be patient...and safe. I may have to switch soaps first, but I'll give this one a few more days to see if I can figure it out. Have a great week, and I'll continue to admire your FB in your SOTD posts as well.

    Tuesday Planned SOTD

    Razor: Mergress XL (S3)
    Blade: Gillette Spoiler (D2)
Brush: Paladin PK-47 26mm Blonde Badger
    Bowl: Symmetrical Sheet Metal
    Pre Shave Scrub: RazoRock GLO
Pre Shave Oil: Homemade Lavender Mint
Shave Soap: La Savonniere du Moulin Asses Milk
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Pitralon (Classic)

Monday morning shave I chased the baby. My neglected Mergress XL was pulled out of the dark recesses of my shave den and paired with a Spoiler blade provided me a near perfect two pass shave. Looking forwarded to using this razor/blade combo to slice through the highly appraised SdM 30% Donkey Milk shave soap. Couple of respected users on another forum state MdC killer so anxious to compare the two.

Nice Mergess XL - mine should arrive Thursday or Friday :)
Funny, I've heard "MdC killer" about the Savonniere du Moulin as well - really looking forward to your take on it. If you got the time I'd love to read a review of it :)

hey jeff have you tried the Cryogen yet? It seemed to be colder than the Stirling Glacial lemon. so cold it may be a bit much as it felt like I had been sprayed with mace lol
