I received my New Forest brush a couple days ago, and was dreading what I would find. I've read reports of misshapen knots, massive shedding, lathe marks in the handles, and uneven handle bottoms. I don't know if it was because this was the final run, but the brush I received was perfect. Beautifully polished, perfectly formed knot, dense with "gel-like" tips. I never understood that reference until now. The handle has beautiful marbling, which wasn't apparent in the photos online. My only regret is that I didn't order more than one. (And by more than one, I mean I should have cleaned out his entire remaining stock). It's too bad he closed up shop, as I would have been a repeat customer.
I picked this up while on a little casino vacation with my wife. Pike Fine grade 6 inch Belgian Razor Hone.
Hope you didn't pay too much for that. Natural double sided coticles like that have been going on eBay for astronomical amounts in the last few years, now that the quarry has been mined out.

I hauled my fourth "slim" or "slim replica" which I'm not sure. I bought it online for 10 Dollars inc. shipping. Although the razor should carry pat. number and Gillette logo & markinhs, there are no markings on the base plate. It's plain. I though someone had refurbished the razor at first, but nobody cares these razors here to repair, probably a perfect replica. What do you say? I couldn't find a spare time to clean the razor, so excuse me because of the photos. Have a great weekend folks!
